Oooppss…did I stir up trouble?
The truth is always trouble for some who prefer that it be twisted or revised to suit their own needs. In Islam the need is to perform a good deed and if that means deception (taqiyya) then so be it. It is all in Sharia laws. Good is anything that advances Islam (open warfare included) and bad is anything that inhibits Islam.

Ye shall know them by their fruitsMatthew 7:16
Hey hamba, that applies to Muslims and Muhammed not Christians and Jesus, because Jesus already authentic in Islam (unless you mean Jesus disciples!).
I very much doubt that Christians would be able to tell what are the things about Sharia law which contradicts the things that are taught in their own Bible.
Come’on hamba, you know that there are lots and lots of contradictions between the two…
Why then do Christians oppose it?
The answer is not difficult to figure out → Pride and prejudice.
I don’t think so, I think because they believe the authentic sinless Person over the non-authentic sinful person.

Over the past year or so, I have been following news item like the following:

msnbc.msn.com/id/26776283/

Is there anyone here who is actually disputing the veracity of such stories of home evictions due to foreclosure?

As for the earlier image which I had posted of people living in tents, it was meant as an illustration of the point about home foreclosures that I was making and I obtained that image from here.

Why are people nitpicking about such trivial matters instead of focusing on the really huge issue of foreclosures due to the economic downturn which is bringing hardship and suffering to countless millions of people all over the world?

How does Sharia law create jobs for people?

How does Sharia law create jobs for people?
I have partly explained this in my earlier post.

As opposed to the present economic system, a Sharia-based economy would eliminate harmful practices such as monopoly and exploitation of markets by the rich and powerful and thereby create an environment which would be most conducive to the growth of business, in particular the growth of small and medium size businesses, and this of course would certainly help create a lot of jobs.

Killing apostates, adulterers and homosexuals must open up some jobs 🤷
Not to mention oppressing the women so that the men can have the jobs. And oppressing the non-Muslims so that Muslim men have first crack at the available jobs. 🤷

I don’t think your posts give a clear picture as to what is involved here. As other people have mentioned, we may be unhappy with some business practices being used today, but that certainly doesn’t mean that Sharia law is the answer. Perhaps you can give us an example of a Muslim country that has implemented a Sharia-based economy that illustrates how the country is thriving and there are no poor people oppressed by the government running this economy.

Perhaps you can also give us some of the specific laws (and how they would be implemented) that you would see enacted in this Sharia based economy that would benefit the people.

Is it possible to have a Sharia based economy without the rest of the garbage that Sharia law entails?

Jay, I’ve never asked this question…but why are you interested in Islamic topics in this forum…your interest seems different than the two members here who are so obsessed with these topic (100% of their posts are in Islamic topics,as if there is nothing else to discuss)…

thanks

At the beginning of Christianity, the Jewish Christians of Jerusalem shared everything in common…they were also thinking Christ would return any time.

Christ did not return. Ss. Peter and Paul were both led to Rome that in time would be the seat of Gentile Christianity. The faith spread rapidly throughout the world, The Christians endured intense persecution for 300 years, hiding their identity and worshiping in secret.

Thus, Christianity did not enjoy the rapid entrenchment like Islam did in its takeovers and subjugation of foreigners in their native lands.

We endured 300 years of persecution, and then endured hundreds of years in the Dark Ages where barbarians were constantly attacking and plundering lands, properties, churches, and educational centers.

And sharing everything in common did not last because that form could only take hold with a very particular and local group of people…you see it today in monasteries and convents.

In time, the Church was able to develop schools and universities for all people, it built hospitals, hospice…Catholic Mexico was the center for education in the New World, and through Bishop Zumaraga, the bishop who met Juan Diego and saw the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe – today’s feast day – on the inside of Juan’s cape, gave the right to an education for women and girls in the 1500’s, 300 years before Protestant America allowed this.

We did not start out the same way, we did not kill to get people to follow Christ. We don’t force our faith on others, people are free. You may have past exceptions, but it is always that way…the wheat and the chaff.

Because it was people coming into the new life of Jesus – not Isa – that converted them.

Likewise, the present financial bondage we are under goes back to the 1700’s. However, some scholars say during that time of the world, when these financiers were just beginning, 3/4’s of the world was enslaved by 1/4 of the world, not naming anyone in particular. Look at the Arab slave trade…I read a historical document by an observer watching a ships come in, seeing people come up to be enslaved, falling down in such extreme shock and trevail, children separated from their parents…a most horrific site. This was Sharia, and part of the system of those Protestant Christians as well. Colonial Catholics from Spain and Portugal also have a hand in abuses towards others.

Commerce and earning a living for one’s self has been around since the beginning of time.
The problem is and always will be the seculars ruling the world through the power of Satan.

Hamba, get a hold of Catholic Social Doctrine. You will find our economic teachings the best because they oppose usury, exploitation, and the mistreatment of women and aliens.

A free market in a democracy – balanced with the voice of Christ through the Catholic Church — is the best system in the world. That was America in the 1950’s, while the pornographers and abortionists and communists were secretly preparing to overtake our society step by step…and this is now what you see.

We are living at the apex of the Great Apostasy of Christianity and all its fragments due to private revelation…both within the Catholic Church and out in Protestism.

What is coming is the ingrafting of Christians whose faith centers on the Altar of Atonement on the Olive Tree – the Jews who will finally come to Jesus – not our work, but that of God’s.

Ha ha…now talking about economic development – I would say the Jews are the best in the world handling money…I have met and worked with those who really take the 10 commandments to heart and are humanitarians. They do the best economically.

I just find it fascinating. I’m not sure who else you’re referring to that are obsessed with these topics. Before joining these forums I didn’t know much about Islam other than knowing it was false - a knowledge which has been confirmed 100 fold now that I have actually learned about the faith.

I guess I’m just curious as to why some people believe the way they do. Islam is so obviously false to me that I genuinely don’t get why people believe it, especially converts. If someone has been born into this and has been told lies about other faiths, I can understand their belief. I was just reading an excerpt from a Saudi 1st grade textbook (I think it was 1st grade) that was teaching the children that Islam is the only religion accepted by God and anyone who does not accept Islam is going to hell. I guess that would be a pretty big motivator for little kids growing up not to question anything about their faith. 🤷

And if I can correct some misunderstandings that Muslims have about Christianity and Catholicism then so much the better.

I was going to add here that I note a great movement of Muslims to promote Islam on us, without even knowing our heritage, which is far greater than Islam…

and without the collateral damage…

The Islamicists look like the the old Christian fundamentalists who come into a foreign people promoting their particular culture and beliefs and not seeing or recognizing the others’ wealth and culture, and how God is with them.

It is better Muslims come to the Catholic Forums to learn about our faith.

Thanks,

before I joined this forum I used to listen to debates between Muslims and Christians, mostly comparing scriptures and discussing theology… the guy I listened to converted around 3000 to Islam through these debates…and then I came here to know some of the differences between the different sects of Christianity… and but then my faith challenged and I looked back at my religion and re-examine it…and AllhamduLillah, became more confidant that Islam is the truth…thanks to this forum.

Anyway, back to the topic.

we believe that there is only one true religion (Islam) that has been on Earth since Adam (as) …but many Shariahs (e.g Moses’ Shariah , Mohammed’s Shariah)… so to answer the question asked before,Mary’s religion was Islam…but she was under Moses’ Shariah…

When this topic came up…I did some research and found out that some Arab Christians advocating Shariah laws…and that some Christians have been members in some Islamic parties , and a former Christian PM in an Arab state actually wanted to apply Shariah in his country…(something people here can’t understand especially when they put the word “garbage” in their question)

Hadi,

And I know Catholic Lebanese men explaining to envious Muslim men the reason the Catholics are better off economically – they follow the teachings of Christ –

– no divorce, stay with the wife you have married…and don’t go off traipsing to other tents…

Hadi, get a document on Catholic Social documents…Read. Look at the history of our teachings on economic and work matters. Look at the cultural heritage of Europe in the arts and education and philosophy.

No offense, but I saw a cooking show go to Jedda and it points to Mecca… I could not believe the downtrodden look of the place so close to your religious center…I mean, Mecca and the surroundings can’t compare to Rome…and the Jihadists say they tried two times to take Rome over, and the third time they will… I can assure you Islam’s takeover of Rome will then bring down the wrath of God…

When do you see other people stake out Mecca?

Islam got the history of the Bible from Jewish and Christian sources. Without these Jewish and Christian people, Muhammed would have to draw only on his own local, nomadic desert surroundings.

It behooves me how Islam cannot see that it has staked out another people’s culture and heritage, reinterpreted these and staked them now as their own…stealing heritage and the Word of God and altering it. You cannot alter one single word of the Scriptures without developing a new religion…with alot of unnecessary suffering.

Before 9/11, I always noted the wars and skirmishes of the world since the life of Christ. Then as I studied Islam, I began to see how much war and fighting and oppression has been brought to the world by Islam.

I read of Islam’s diabolic brutality, the desecration of the human body in warfare, the enslavements of European white women, as well as the treatment of their own women, the child tax and the impaling of Serb resistence fighters, the beheading of Catholic European men in Italy for refusing Islam… the horrific destruction of Constantinople and the staking of St. Sophia’s, which God knows belongs to His Son Christ. And then I read of the terrible destruction and nature of deaths on the Sikhs, the people of Indian who suffered the worst along with the enslavement of the African people…

Hadi, your people come to our country where they are respected, fed, clothed, given religious rights many of us do not have, this denoting virtue and compassion we would not find in your countries…and yet Muslims consider themselves superior to us and secretly plot…I am no dummy and I have experienced for some time abuse of citizenship by various foreigners coming to America in the past 30 years…all for money…to hell with compassion and taking on the best of our culture…it is destroying us and this will also impact the world as well…all will suffer from all this sin.

It is a sin to come to a foreign country, to sue and insult, to think you are better while you reap here you could not find in your own origins.

If you believe these things through Sharia are OK, then you really haven’t learned anything here on Catholic Forum.

Perhaps you could post the links to your assertions.

I can rephrase my question regarding Sharia:
(“Garbage” is just how I see many of these “laws”.)

Is it possible to have a Sharia based economy without implementing the rest of Sharia, including, but not limited to: a) killing apostates to Islam b) killing adulterers c) cutting off the limbs of criminals d) punishing people who speak against Muhammad and/or Islam e) punishing people for drinking alcohol f) punishing women for going out in public “uncovered” (i.e. without hijab, niquab, burqa etc) g) punishing women for going out without a male relative etc etc. etc.

Do you have any links you show us about these Arab Christians who want Sharia for their countries? I find that very suspect, and would not be surprised if there is more to the story than even what you have read. In my (admittedly limited) experience with Arab Christians, I can’t imagine any one of them actually advocating this, let alone being members of hardline Islamist parties (perhaps some religious parties, which would probably be Islamic due to the makeup of the Middle East).

There is, of course, a long tradition of Christian supporters of what could be seen as “Islamic” goals, to the extent that the pan-Arabism advocated by the likes of Michel Aflaq in Iraq or Hakim George Habash in Palestine has often been far more conciliatory to Islamist goals than the average Arab Christian would, given the reality that Islam has been made as the religion of the Arabs, the religion that gives them worth and awakens and strengthens their specific national and international ambitions (don’t get mad at me here - these are the sorts of things that Michel Aflaq would write about Arabs and Islam, and he was a Christian!). It is the language of power for the Arabs, so pan-Arabist Christians would like it, of course.

The other model of the explicitly political Christian in the Middle East, it should be noted, is in reaction to these pan-Arabist positions. I am thinking of the virulent anti-Arabist and anti-Palestinian positions of the likes of Abu Arz and some others involved in the fight to free Lebanon from the Palestinians and their allies during the civil war. Similar anti-Arab/anti-Islam sentiments certainly also exist among even the “Muslim” minorities in the Middle East, such as the Berbers (Kabyle musician-activists like Matoub Lounes, Moh Alileche, etc.), to say nothing of elsewhere (Somalis and other African Muslims who often hate the Arab culture outside of their common religion).

In short, this sort of thing cuts both ways, and some Christians, like other people from areas where Islam is the dominant philosophy, are so brainwashed by Arabism that they will join anybody who writes from right to left.* I’m not trying to knock them, of course, because any political religion sucks (not just Islam; Christians who argue for a theocracy in America also drive me nuts), but I am sad that they would advocate for the same laws that their ancestors going back generations fought against and suffered under.
  • I bring up writing from right to left because a friend of mine once sent me an article on Chechen Islamic terrorist Shamil Basaev in which he tried to threaten the Russians in Chechnya by saying that his brave Islamic movement would “slaughter all those who write left to right”…apparently Mr. Basaev was so filled with rage that he temporarily forgot that his own Chechen language is written from left to right, as it had been since years before his statement. Oops!

About no Muslims utopians exist…

Christ gave us a better steer…His kingdom is not of this world…and it does look like the whole movement of Islam is a self-esteem issue because of where they come from…

I mean, Muhammed didn’t even want Jerusalem, but his descendents concocted a myth that he went to Israel in a dream on a horse, and by golly, he ascended to heaven from St. Mary’s of Justinian near the Temple Mount…

So the whole issue of the Jewish origins in Israel is now being debunked by the Waqf, the Iranians, etc. Jerusalem and the conquest of Israel, because it also is the source of Christianity, is what Islamic lust is all about…total control through lies and murder…

Satan is the father of lies and murder.
