Jewish Authored Book on the Levitical Priesthood – Any suggestions?

I am looking for a couple of suggestions regarding books pertaining to the Levitical Priesthood. I would prefer this from a Jewish perspective, but would be willing to consider books from Christian authors as well.

Well… you might start with the following artical from the Jewish Encyclopedia on Priests and the Priesthood:

It contains several bibliographical references, albeit mostly to primary or secondary sources in Latin or German.
