Are the Jews killed in the settlements considered martyrs?

Interesting question. The mainstream news media would say “no”. But now that you ask the question, I think in some cases the correct answer could only be “yes”. After all, they are being killed because of either their race or religion.

Martyrdom in Judaism is when a Jew sacrifices his life rather than transgress God’s laws, particularly against committing idoltry, committing grave sexual sins, and committing murder. Martyrs would include Jews who die for their faith, for purity, and for the world.
