Try and think of this from a Jewish perspective. A thousand or so years after God reveals Himself through the Jews and you have the concept of the one God and Torah and the eternal covenant between the Jewish people and God, a small group of Jews and a larger group of pagans rise up and say that everything about the Jewish concept of God and Torah is wrong and that they are the new Jews and God has made a new covenant with them and the Jews don’t have any understanding of their scriptures and that not only is the Tanach not a polemic against their beliefs but it actually can be used to support and show why the beliefs of the new Jews are correct and you old Jews are just being stubborn and pig headed and if we are on the subject of pig it’s now okay to eat it and by the way the Sabbath has been moved, but don’t worry the rules concerning the Sabbath don’t apply.

Actually, the Sabbath is still Saturday. The reason Christians worship on Sunday is because Sunday was the day Christ arose from the dead. The central theme of the Catholic and Orthodox Mass is a celebration of the resurrection, vis-a-vis, we celebrate it on the same day it happened–Sunday (also why Easter is fixed to Sunday even though it’s a movable Holy Day). I think you need to read what I’ve actually written here and then read what you’ve written in the third paragraph of the quoted post.

Then, perhaps, you might wonder what all your fuss has been about.

What I wonder about, is why you keep avoiding lifting the burden of evidence that you have taken upon yourself by whatever means you seem to think you’ll be able to; be it equivocated, using strawmen, turning tables, etc.

Well actually the Jews have no problem with their eternal covenant with God or with understanding the concept of God which was revealed through the Jewish people for all the world at Mt. Sinai along with the Torah. It is you who claim that the concept of God and Torah is wrong, it is you who claim that God broke His covenant with the Jews, it is you who believe that God made an incorrect covenant and had to make a new one that is basically the opposite of the eternal covenant, that God suddenly became from one to being made up of three, that Torah was no longer relevant, that God suddenly should be viewed in human form and you can make statues of your god in this form and place them in your houses of worship, that the story of Abraham and the binding of his son Isaac is not a polemic against pagan practices but to show that the ultimate act is for the “father” to make a human sacrifice of his “son” for mankind, it is you who believe that human beings are born with the defect of sin and must be saved from this sin, it is you who believes that you are the new Jews, whose scriptures teaches the Jews are in a stupor or have a character flaw for not rejecting their covenant with God and accepting your beliefs, it is your Church that has persecuted and passed laws and written diatribes against the Jews for their belief in God and Torah, it is your Church that has a special prayer for the Jews, and now for some reason, on a Catholic forum, you demand “evidence” from Jews (despite are stupor) to show why your beliefs aren’t true, I have faith in God and Torah and Judaism and the Jewish people. Maybe it’s time the Christians on this forum had faith in their religion without needing our approval or “evidence” as to their beliefs. With all due regret we are unable to help. You can take every Jew in the world and tell him/her to read and interpret say Genesis 3:15 and not one of them, no matter how great a scholar, will come up with your religion’s interpretation. We can only show why the Catholic interpretation is incorrect for this passage. However, what is the point to that? If you can not yet grasp the concept of the Creator without human form or the concept of Torah that is okay with us and you still get to go to the world to come.

Chosen People, after watching what you posted at the bottom on youtube. I am puzzled. See I thought the whole idea of this war and losing our beloved Brothers and Sisters was to help Israel, Not hurt them? Sorry for my ignorance

You can say what you want but it is God fearing Christians who are putting their life on the line every second of the day to help Israel. We are not haters of Jews we are Christians who with the help of our Jesus pray everyday for peace. Pray everyday to help the inocent. It is Christians this Christmas probally every family on this site who have a beloved member of their family who cannot share Christmas this year because they are trying to help. Christians do not hate Jews, we hate no one. From what I read sometimes its possibly the other way around.

And by the way it is not God who broke his promise to the Jews, it is the Jews who broke their promise to God. God has never sinned, the Jews did. Just like we all do. But because he is a merciful God he always welcomes us back by repenting and by his great grace we can stop our sins.

What you must understand is that Christianity is a break away form of Judaism. At one point, they were a sect of it. We have the Jewish Scriptures because we were Jewish. Without them, we would not be what we are.

That does not mean that you should not have your reasons for saying that we are wrong. Nor does that mean that anyone should tell you that you are wrong.

We read it one way, you read it another. That is why we are Christian and you are Jewish.
