I understand that Easter is the Sunday that follows the start of the Jewish Passover festival.

But do Jews and Catholics use the same formula for determining the Passover dates? Any Web links or books would be appreciated.

Basically, yes. Passover occurs on the day of the first full moon following the vernal (spring) equinox. Basically. One exception or difference that sometimes occurs is when the Jewish calendar uses an intercalary month that would result in Passover being celebrated following Easter.
