When did Jews stop making animal sacrifices to God?
I believe this was following the detruction of the temple of Jerusalem in 70AD.When did Jews stop making animal sacrifices to God?
Luke 19:41
As He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, "If this day you only knew what makes for peace–but now it is hidden from your eyes. For the days are coming upon you when your enemies will raise a palisade against you; they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides.
They will smash you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another within you because you did not recognize the time of your visitation."
Luke 23:28
Jesus turned to them and said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children, for indeed, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed.’
At that time people will say to the mountains, ‘Fall upon us!’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us!’
for if these things are done when the wood is green what will happen when it is dry?"
Thanks for your answer. Is the reason because after the destruction they had no place to make the sacrifice? If so and the temple was ever rebuilt would they resume animal sacrifice?I believe this was following the detruction of the temple of Jerusalem in 70AD.

Not all Jews agree with this author’s position, but those who agree with him will have to see these criteria met before recognising a Third Temple.
