Jewish salvation

A Catholic friend and fellow Knight has a wife of Jewish background. She believes her Jewish family is condemmed by Roman Catholic teaching? What is an appropriate response? She does attend Mass and some Knights programs at our church.
 
Firstly, the jews believe in the law.

Catholics brought the law into their own hands (at least in their own view). To the Jews of course, that would be an utter slap in their faces because to them, the law is in the hands of GOD.

How do we comfort them to tell them that now God has relinquished His authorities to someone else besides Himself???

Frankly, I believe to many, the concept is absurd.

maybe i misunderstand, but are you implying we should still follow the law?

Catachism 839: Those who have not yet received the Gospel ar relatedto the people of God in various ways. When she delves into her own mystery, the Church, the People of God in the New covenant, discovers her link with the Jewish people, the first to hear the Word of God. the Jewish faith, unlike other non christian religions, is already a response to Gods revelation in the old covenant. To the Jews belong the sonship and glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises. to them belong the patriarchs,and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ. For the Gifts and the Call of God are irrevocable. continued next post

this is from the Catachism of the Catholic Church. if we go to the missal, it actually repeats this, and alludes to the hope that one day the Church and those of the Jewish faith will be one. this may help. Peace:)
