Tell your Jewish friend that in the New Testament (Matt 15:11) it is written:
“Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man: but what cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man”
The new law of Jesus the Messiah which supersedes the old law of the Old Testament says that the food we eat is no longer bound by laws. Therefore, it is not required that we eat “Kosher”.

TemplarKnight, sorry. Those wise words of Jesus may be misunderstood. I am sure it was a simple case of not washing the hands before taking meals. It was not a case of eating the flesh of swine. If Jesus and his friends had been caught eating the flesh of swine and if answering the objection, Jesus had said the above words then the christains may have had some excuse. But that is not the case.
The christians are guilty of disobeying the many commandments. They just build an excuse to disobey. Any small excuse is good for them. Otherwise, one could just note how Jesus lived. That would have been enough for the christians to leave many bad things. But they do not care about Jesus.
Now, I come to my real reply. I do not want to oppose or negate the above good words of Jesus. But it is well known that what goes in, must come out If the christians will eat the flesh of a shameless animal, they will become shameless people.
WE know that food makes the personailty. Just look at the tiger and Leopard and cow and goat. The tiger eats meat and is powerful, ferocious animal.Goat eats grass and is weak, meek and gentle. Similar is the case of hawk and eagle against dove and pigeon.
Will any one deny the effect of food on the personality?? I hope not.
God had given very good guidance in the matter of cleanliness to the Jews. I know it was for the Jews and not for the gentiles. But since the christians are hailing from the Jews, they are holding onto the bibleOT for some purpose to prove the truth of Jesus, they should not depart from the ten commandments. Or. they should forget Jesus.
Jesus never told his followers to eat unclean things. For such an important matter, there hould have been clear instuctions, not just a few words like Math. 15:11
That is not true. Jesus did not give any law. He knew that the existing law of the jews was enough and good. We do not see any new law in bibleNT. What is the law of Jesus? One should see the law of Moses and then bring anothe rone similar to that in qualitya nd quantity. Then it can be said that new law has superceded the old law. But in this case, with the christians, there is no law at all…
It is due to saying good-bye to the old law (of Moses) that the christians are suffering today. It is told that the new law of Jesus… I see that law of Jesus was the same law which he was following all his lafetime and that was the law of Moses. There is no other law of Jesus.

9_2, I do not understand the exact nature of Koshar. I hope that the Muslims have laws similar to those of the Jews, i.e. the choice selection of the animal, the slaughter of the animal in the name of God etc… It is all there. Muslims also do not consume the flesh of swine.
I do not much know about such matters. Moses was a prophet of God. He was given a law for his people. Muhammad is a prophet of God. He also had a law for his people. We do not see Jesus with any law. That was because he was not given any new law. Jesus and his people was subject to the law of Moses.
May be I have written to much and that may offend you. But it was not intended to be so.
Now you can explain Koshar to me.

wasn’t it actually Paul that wanted to attract more people to be followers of Jesus and so circumcision was not required nor following the food laws? if i am wrong, please correct me.

7 sorrows, it seems so. Paul took faith to Greece. The Greeks love the flesh of swine. Paul made many amendments in original Jewish laws to attract the Greeks. He also had some excuse that the Jewish law did not apply to the gentiles. Now the Jewish blood amongst christians and gentiles is all mixed up. One cannot tell a gentile from an original Jewish line. So the law is abolished for all.
Jesus never said that he had brought a new law and he was abolishing the old law. I hope you are right as you have written. Paul said that Jesus had redeemed the followers from the curse of the Mosaic law. Those were real bad words (curse) about the good law.
Muslims do not pay any attention to the writings of Paul because they seem much different to the teachings of Jesus. Christians love the teachings of Paul.

One was required to accept the moral law, however as Paul points out, we all have access to this law through reason.
This brings up the question - why did God give such a complicated and detailed rule of life to the Jews? My guesses would be to be a kind of witness to God, and perhaps to keep them separate in some ways from other people so they could be a special witness.

Similar, not the same. Kosher laws are much stricter. Not everything revolves around pigs.
