Jews and Jesus

My family has a very good family friend who is Jewish. She was once Anglican (from the UK) but when she married her husband (they have now since divorced) she become Jewish and renounced Christ. Even without her husband, she is still committed to Reform Judaism and wants to stay Jewish.

How should I approach this? I want to tell her about Christ, but not “preachy”

Why do you feel a need to “tell her about Christ”? She was a Christian at one time, so she’s no doubt already heard “about Christ”. Besides, you admitted she wants to stay Jewish. Evidently she did not convert to Judaism to marry her husband, because she still wants to be Jewish even though they are divorced.

All you will do it turn her off to the whole issue of Christianity, perhaps even further than she may already be.

If she is happy in her religion, why do you want to disrupt that? How would you feel if someone tried to convert a Catholic to another religion?

Besides, how does the Catholic church view someone who once did believe in Jesus, then renounced him? Can they be forgiven? Isn’t that the sin against the Holy Ghost?
