Well, ok. The only thing is, you may not like all of my answer. You see, despite studying the issue and praying about it, I don’t have a sense that the CC is the One and Only, or True Church, nor do I agree with everything that the Church teaches. (And I’m really not in the mood for any proof-texting wars on that issue, for anyone who was feeling the urge–kindly resist!)

Um, yeah, people like to joke about that. Especially on the Association for Hebrew Catholics. Though I have a lot of trouble imagining Mary fitting that stereotype…

I actually do not know ‘those stereotype jokes’.

I have a deep affection and love for the Jewish people. My/our saviour, God himself, is a Jew. His mother, whom he has given me to be my/our mother, is a Jew(ess).

All I wanted to convey was that the Mary, who you love, is a Jewess like you. Take my statement in the positive…

Take say the Joyful mysteries:

The first the Annunciation: The Angel came when Mary was likely saying her prayers. The prayers she had learned as a Jew.

The Visitation: visiting her kinswoman and helping her until John the Baptist is born; doing all the things Jewish mothers and their relatives do.

The Presentation: fulfilling a Jewish law.

Finding in the Temple: this was their custom. They followed their Jewish traditions…
