Muhammad did not attack Medina–he was welcomed there. I think you are thinking of his attack on a Jewish tribe in/near Medina. His capture of Mecca was marked by mercy and tolerance according to all the accounts I have heard.It is also an interesting footnote that Mohammed personally led the attack on both Mecca and Medina. A brutal slaughter of pagen people.
There are plenty of counts on which Muhammad can be accused of violence, so you need to make your accusations accurately. Loose and imprecise statements like this don’t advance the discussion.
