Now, I agree 100% that we should not hate them. Like you, I pity most of them. We must not lose sight of the fact that for some reason, a number of them want to end our way of life, including our faith, and the majority do not care enough about innocent life to stop them. I think that most Muslims could care less about the west. I just wish they would care about their fellow man and end the violence that others committ
Maybe they do not care because most of them are struggling with poverty, survival and fear. But yes there are those who do not care just like there are those in the West (Christians and the like) who do not care. Imagine if the whole world cared.

P.S. To tell you the truth, what truly angers me, apart from the Jihadists, are the Saudi princes, who do nothing to help poor Muslims, while living in palatial homes and driving around in solid gold rolls royces.

I don’t think the “hate” of Islam as you call it is unnecessary! Have you ever considered that it is precisely because of what Islam teaches that Muslims act that way? By their fruits you will know them!

Christians and others are suffering and being persecuted by Muslims every day.

Let’s see if any of our Muslim posters has anything to say about this thread!

Vickie
Yes they are and in many countries.

The ironic part of this is that for so many of them, their own government keeps them this way. How many of them have no say in their own lives?

Yes Josie - and based on the forums I belong to, muslims “hate” the Saudis big time. They call them all sorts of names.

He did, but we should always be aware that our terms have different meanings and we have different motives. It is not as easy to say “they honor Mary and see Jesus as a prophet, we can start there” as it is to say to a non_catholic Christian “We both use the same Bible and see the saving power of Christ’s work on the Cross.” The man they call Isa is NOT Jesus Christ. Even if you take out the Divinity of Christ, they are NOT the same person at all.
i have to agree w/ you after watching those imams’ clips espousing hatred of the west and other Christian nations. one imam i could not forget explicitly said muslims would not stop until they have converted the world into islam. one reporter asked him what they would do if others refuse to convert. he gave an analogy that allah owns the world and similar to an apartment, if the tenant refuse to adhere landowner kicks him out. the reporter asked him what he meant by kick him out and he replied to kill them. see the link i posted in an earlier thread - it’s an eye opener what ideology they embrace.
God bless.

Yes, it is because of Islam (but not all Muslims act this way, thank God), and yet we as Christians are asked to teach others the Truth with gentleness. We cannot lead them into all Truth if we are going to insult their religion (remember they believe it to be true) by repeating such stories (even if they are true). I mean a good dosage of reality is necessary for Muslims (as it should make them question their beliefs) but a constant stream may have an adverse effect.

P.S. Vicki, I know what you are doing is good, I am only stating that we should not view all of Islam (that means its adherents) as our enemies. We will never be able to reach them otherwise, and they Vicki have just as much a right to salvation as we do. As for Christians, I am well aware of their plight, but this only proves that Islam is not of God, not that all Muslims are bad.

It’s funny how in the West or East, government is never used for the purposes it was intended for. They, those who hold political power, will have a lot of explaining to do in order to justify their actions. May God have mercy.

I agree 100%

At least here, we have protections from the government and a means to change the rulers. IN so many Muslim nations, they do not.

Yes, that is true. I just hope our protections remain, as the things I am presently seeing make me think that those protections are being violated or soon will be.

In Canada, we have certain elements in government that is inexorably moving towards fascism/communism (Canadian Human Rights Commission). There are fortunately for us some who are fighting these elements.

Hey folks, instead of licking our wounds and feeling outraged by a bunch of dumb rants on some Muslim websites, why don’t we pray for these poor people?
👍👍👍 We* are* told to 🙂
They are much closer to the Catholic faith than many people assume. Muslims highly honor Mary, they honor Jesus as a great prophet, and their code of ethics is not that disimilar from ours. We have more in common with them in this regard than the Jews, yet they are for some reason hated and vilified. Maybe when we all stop gazing at our collective navel and start extending a hand of mercy to the Muslim world, then they will start to take our faith seriously. Eternal souls are at stake here and God wants as many of these people in His kingdom as possible. Pray and fast for the salvation of the Muslim world, for this will not only benefit them, but us also and the whole world. Peace.

👍

Ever notice that the worse an act or bill is in terms of human dignity, the cuter its name is? Freedom of Choice Act. Human Rights Commission.

Watch out when they start talking about the Fluffy Bunny Bill.

Wolves in sheeps clothing bill would be more apropos. Too bad, most people are naive and uninformed.

"At last they have had their dark days too. O Allah, kill them and leave them destitute vagabonds," said one of a series of comments that have appeared on various jihadist websites this week.

"O Allah, keep the earthquakes and tragedies coming - cursed be Europe, Israel and the United States," wrote ‘Ashiq al-Irhab’, which in Arabic means ‘desirous of terrorism’.

The prayer reads: "O Allah, may the death toll continue to rise. Destroy our enemies and help Muslims!"

A user of the ‘al-Shura’ website, Nureddin al-Zanki, writes: "We have a stronger weapon than guns - our prayers, which will further drive up the numbers of victims."
:dts:
By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?” (Matthew 7:16).

Remember all those Christians who were out in the streets, celebrating the many, many deaths after the earthquake near the Turkey-Iran border?

Me neither.

One thing we must never forget, Islam is intent on conquering the world. Yes there are moderate Muslims out there and they may be non-violent but when the chips are down they will go with the extremists as they consider us infidels.

In WWII we were wrong to cage up the American Japanese and many of them fought bravely with us against the Japanese. Don’t expect the same from the Muslims if we go to war with a Muslim country. In fact some of what will happen is already showing up as several Muslims in the US military have already turnedcoat and attacked our own troops.

After 9/11 many Muslims were polled and the results showed that while they themselves may not engage directly in an attack on the US they approved of it.

They will conquer us by two methods which are already in progress. One is by attacking Americans to kill as many as possible by any means possible and the other is by simply moving here and silently becoming a majority. Don’t forget, the majority rules in America. They can simply overwhelm us at the voting booth. There are many businesses that have already make allowances for their prayers during work periods and recognizing Muslim holy days.

Yes, pray for them and pray for us, especially for us.

Too bad these businesses won’t recognize Christian holy days.

Pax tecum

Im really glad someone said: ‘you will know them by their fruits’ [Matt 7:16]

A journalist once asked the same question about atheists. He went to a meeting and sat next to a man who spent all day crossing out ‘God’ from the statement ‘in God we trust’ on US dollar bills :). Compare this with the historical influence of the Roman Church on European and World civilisation and it becomes clear who is nearer the truth.

Let us look at this thread now. From the majority of posters we have arrogant and contradictory time wasters who do not anything about their religion let alone anyone elses! I think it’s time most of you took a long hard look at yourselves and reassess in terms of: ‘you will know them by their fruits’ [Matt 7:16]

One person’s posts can be summed up with the following: Muslims are wrong because they hate, I hate Muslims because they are wrong… The only logical conclusion is since we both hate we are both wrong! So let us reassess in terms of: ‘you will know them by their fruits’ [Matt 7:16]

The ignorant humble person says: ‘I don’t know,’ when a question comes from a topic outside their sphere of experience. An arrogant ignorant person make reductionaist broard statements, which are wrong by their very nature before even embarking into any finer details. So to the ignorant I ask did you know before you made these posts the Muslim thinker ibn Sina was one of Thomas Aquinas’ biggest influences? In addition did we know ibn Sina is one of the most celebrated physicians along with Hippocratis and Galen? So let us reassess in terms of: ‘you will know them by their fruits’ [Matt 7:16]

Some posters mentioned converts from Islam. Did you know that the greatest proportion of converts to Islam were Roman Catholic? Including international figures who work for tolerance and peace like Nuh Ha Mim Keller. So let us reassess in terms of: ‘you will know them by their fruits’ [Matt 7:16]

Are terrorist actions simple dichotomous situations or the result of social, political and historical baggage? Lets ask the IRA? So let us reassess in terms of: ‘you will know them by their fruits’ [Matt 7:16] Should we really fear them or is it God we fear?

Let me finally finish with do you think Jesus would have spent his time as some of you have done? It is a difficult notion, so let us turn instead to what Catholics view as His representative; His Holiness The Pope. He has given his life to worship and seeking knowledge. He has written international best sellers on matters of faith and morals and perhaps most notably he has met the foremost Muslim clerics, spoken with them, listend to them and manifested the sentiments of Vatican II. So let us reassess in terms of: ‘you will know them by their fruits’ [Matt 7:16]

Please just read this post and go out and force money into the hand of a person of dishevelled apperance or read a great work like the Cloud of Unknowing or pray for and send some money to the poor people affected by the Abruzzo earthquake because ‘you will know them by their fruits’ [Matt 7:16]

Dubai, 8 April (AKI) - Jihadist users of Al-Qaeda linked websites have been rejoicing at the devastating earthquake that hit Italy’s central Abruzzo region on Monday, describing it as a “divine punishment” for “the enemies of Islam”. The earthquake killed over 260 people, injured hundreds more and destroyed thousands of buildings, leaving 20,000 homeless.

"At last they have had their dark days too. O Allah, kill them and leave them destitute vagabonds," said one of a series of comments that have appeared on various jihadist websites this week.

The Abruzzo earthquake has made headline news around the world, and Al-Qaeda sympathisers have followed via Arabic TV networks.

The jihadists appear to be engaged in contest to see who can post updates on the death toll from the earthquake fastest.

A series of strong aftershocks since the main quake have caused further damage, hampering rescue efforts and further terrorising the population in the town of L’Aquila and surrounding villages. One man died of a heart-attack following a quake on Tuesday.

Between 20-30 people were still missing on Wednesday.

"O Allah, keep the earthquakes and tragedies coming - cursed be Europe, Israel and the United States," wrote ‘Ashiq al-Irhab’, which in Arabic means ‘desirous of terrorism’.

Another jihadist site, ‘al-Shura’, has been publishing tolls of the Abruzzo earthquake victims beneath each article, accompanied by a macabre prayer.

Similar messages from jihadists have been posted to the ‘Ansar’ and ‘Mujahidin’ websites, whose users have rejoiced in the past at other disasters to hit western nations.

Can Muslims actually believe that God will approve of such diabolical prayers??

Vickie
What did Al Qaeda said when the greatTzunami hit Aceh (99.99% Muslim dominated region of Indonesia) back in December 26th 2004. It was an American aircraft carrier group who provided helicopter support to transport supplies to the devastated and isolated region.

Kind of like how the Christians exalted Hurricane Katrina.

Barbara Bush speaks for “the Christians” now? I thought it is was the younger Bush who was convinced God talks to him personally…
