Dear All:

After seven months out of work, I have a promising interview tomorrow. The job is perfect and aligns with my qualifications and experience. I fear I’ll appear too desperate or blow it somehow. I need to present myself in the best possible way. I (desperatetly) want this job!! Please pray I will do well and be offerred this job. God bless you all!!

Lord, if Tom can get to an adoration chapel tonight to spend at least an hour in your healing, loving company that would be excellent for him. He could pray to you not to feel so desperate at his interview and could get the special graces from your healing presence to better cope with his situation. If he can’t get to an adoration chapel may he spend a good amount of time in prayer tonight (and everyday). May he pray for total confidence in you; for **complete **resignation to your will; for confidence in his abilities; for his natural warmth and friendliness to shine through at his interview. St. Padre Pio says: pray, hope and don’t worry. The biggest enemy for Tom could be his worry. May he pray and hope in you so much that he banishes any time spent in worrying. If you want Tom to get the job, he will get it. May he just be himself and just be a good Christian at his interview. May You shine through his smile and actions on his interview. This will make him so attractive to his interviewer - more than anything else. In other words, let him go to his interview as a humble Christian hoping and praying for the job, but accepting that he’ll get the job only if you truly want him to have this job. May he go to this interview with surrender to your merciful love. May he know that the outcome of this interview will be what is best for his soul. I’m sure you want him to get this job if it is not detrimental to his soul down the line. St. Padre Pio, intercede that Tom does AWESOME on his interview and gets the position he is applying for. Blessed Mary, intercede that the Holy Spirit inspires him to speak well and respond well to his interviewer’s questions. Lord, grant him serenity and peace as he makes his interview. Amen.

Congrats on the interview!

I’m praying for you.

Some advice from my experience and I hope that will help you.
  1. Google top 10 interview do’s and dont’s a lot of them are the same.
  2. Dress your best (obvious)
  3. Sit relaxed but not too relaxed like your at home on your own couch but just enough to not show any hint of tension, it exudes confidence which if you have the qualifications and experience you claim, you should be.
  4. Plan to show up 30 min early that buys you bad luck time in case you get lost or hit traffic and also shows dedication.
  5. Know your responses (in a general manner don’t spew it out memorized word for word as it sounds tacky).
  6. In note of #5, plan for these common questions (“why do you want the job?”, “what can you bring to this company,organization, ect?” “what are some of your weaknesses?” “what was one major challenge in your life and how did you over come it?” ect. ect.) I swear they have a question bank for those they show up everywhere!
  7. Smile and be happy (fake it if your not). If you show negativity is ruins the whole thing from the start, nobody wants a negative person.
  8. Dress professional (suit, tie, if you have it)
  9. Make 2 or 3 copies of your resume and make sure it is well edited and free of typos. (if you need it or they need it).
  10. Don’t read from your resume if they ask you about your experiences or qualifications, you should know them without 2nd thought.
  11. Put on deoderant after shower, interviews tend to make me sweat under my shirt as do many others. Also shave if need be.
  12. I know it’s hard to follow but just be calm relaxed and act like it is a chat occasion with friends (someday you may be in the other chair doing interviews)
I know a lot of these are common sense but such stressful situations tend make us do everything that is not common sense. If you follow the above then you shouldn’t be nervous as the rest is in God’s hands, you did your part. If something happens just know there will be other opportunities.
