Well, I did not get the job. I must admit I am not surprised since the second interview was almost 2 weeks ago. I had a sense after 1 week when they were not getting back to me, I was not going to get it.

They left me a voice mail at home (they do not have my work number). As well, then sent an email with the usual ‘Thanks for coming in but someone else better suited our needs we will keep you on file.’

However, this is what I find VERY curious. They said they would try to call me again Monday morning  Usually when I don’t get a job (which is 98% of the interviews I go on:sad_yes:) I simply get an email. It has been my experience no one likes to give bad news so they take the easy way out and send an email.

However, I can not imagine why someone would tell me I didn’t get the job and then want to talk again. I emailed back and said that since I had no privacy to talk at work and unless there was something further they required, to please tell me what time to call me and I would bring a cell to a private room. I proceeded to ask if they would be comfortable giving me feedback on my interview skills and if they would be comfortable putting it in an email.

Honestly I am puzzled by this. Any insight would be appreciated

I’m so sorry you didnt get the job. :console:

I wouldn’t get your hopes up that they might call you anyways. They said no, so it stinks, but they most likely do mean no. Job hunting is awful. 😦

ummm why would she say she would call back if she does not want to?

Since they reached your voicemail they probably just want to tell you personally so you know to look for other options. Not often, but ocassionally they are nice like that. :o

She said in her voicemail that she would email me (which she did informing me that I did not get the position) and then said 'I will also follow up Monday with a call. She knew she would be telling me via email so why say she would also call?

Maybe they have another position in the company they think you’re suited for.

Well, that would be nice. However, she did not make any hint or reference to that in her email. Also, I just went on the website and there are no current positions. Perhaps they really meant it when they said ‘they would keep my application on file’

I’m so sorry to hear that you didn’t get the job.

Perhaps the call on Monday is because you asked for feedback. Maybe they have some suggestions for you that they feel will help.

that is what I am hoping for. Feed back.

Keep us posted. I am sorry you did not get the job. And I know that it is little consolation but there are good things ahead for you, And you are learning and getting valuable experiences along the way, even if some of them make you feel a little rejected.
