Although I realize my troubles are certainly not nearly as awful as those who are sick or dying who have been mentioned on here and I do feel blessed for the good in my life, I am asking for prayers for me, my family and my former employees. Today, after 26 years with the company I have given my life to, I was layed off because of a reorganization and tough economic times. My heart is full with the support and love I have received from my family and my former employees. Many of those individuals who reported to me have called or emailed me expressing tremendous anxiety about their futures. My burden is not just my own situation – I will fare better than some have. I am concerned, however, for them and I am praying for them also. I am sure they think if I am vulnerable then so are they. I am worried about the stress this places on my husband, who is also out of work. My young adult children are very worried about me – and their support heartens me. Please Jesus – give me the strength to not become bitter or angry and help those who are left behind keep focused on their jobs and their own livelihood. Today, I feel numb and I know the emotions will rise up eventually. I pray they are constructive and that I find a way to make this be my most life affirming transition.
