Trivial question, but one that I have been unable to find a satisfactory answer for.
What is the story behind Job’s wife?
Where did she go during the book of Job?
Did she die as well? Did Job remarry?
Why isn’t she mentioned in the end?
Using the Haydock Commentary Job Chapter 2 verse 9 is the only place in Job we hear about his wife.

9 And his wife said to him: Dost thou still continue in thy simplicity? bless God and die.
But later on in Job Chapter 19
17 My wife hath abhorred my breath, and I entreated the children of my womb.

Surprisingly in Job makes this statement in chapter 31 verses 10 and 11 **10 Let my wife be the harlot of another, and let other men lie with her.
11 For this is a heinous crime, and a most grievous iniquity.**

Finally in Job Chapter 42 verses 10 through 15 we read that God forgave Job of his repentance
**10 The Lord also was turned at the penance of Job, when he prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
11 And all his brethren came to him, and all his sisters, and all that knew him before, and they eat bread with him in his house: and bemoaned him, and comforted him upon all the evil that God had brought upon him. And every man gave him one ewe, and one ear-ring of gold.
12 And the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. And he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses.
13 And he had seven sons, and three daughters.
14 And he called the names of one, Dies, and the name of the second, Cassia, and the name of the third, Cornustibii.
15 And there were not found in all the earth women so beautiful as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.**
There’s nothing else to say whether his original wife died or that God helped him find a new wife.
My suspicions are that Job’s wife would have also had to have sought forgiveness from God along with Job her husband.
Peace
