Respectfully you have to ignore what I wrote in great detail to post what you did.
I quoted Cardinal Burke, then Cardinal Ratzinger, and the US CONFERENCE of BISHOPS. LIKE 3-4 TIMES.
Cardinal Dolen on Fox said he would not have done it the way it was done.

It doesn’t make sense to start bring up other things like “we’re all unworthy” if that’s not the objection.
 
But it is part of the objection. There has to be a reason Cardinal Ratzinger and Cardinal Burke offered a procedure. Because the Eucharist is only given to rank unworthy. And if Baptized and in good standing, should never be denied.

And you are ignoring Canon Law, and jumping around the subject to see if you can manage to find a weak point elsewhere.
 
I don’t agree it was an act of charity. It can be, but in my opinion was not in this case.

I agree with MiserereMeiDei about keeping this thread on topic, which is not capital punishment. Nonetheless if you feel justified in making a claim that it is immoral you should not be surprised that I make the contrary claim. I’m willing to drop the topic entirely…so long as others do the same.

Are you familiar with argument by analogy? It’s actually legit. I get it: you maintain – repeatedly – that the death penalty is still a just option. You’re wrong, according to the Vatican. But sure, I understand why you want to stick to abortion here.
 
I am sure he is aware of how hard it is for a Catholic to win.

If you say so. Canon Law and the policies of this priest’s diocese say that such people as Joe Biden shouldn’t be receiving, and should be denied the Sacrament until they repent. You’re reaching outside of these rules to try and make Joe Biden out to be a victim of some wrong. If not ignoring, you’re at least redefining.

I agree with your point, I believe. It would have been better for the priest to talk with Mr Biden before Mr Biden presented himself to receive The Eucharist.

We don’t know that he did or didn’t.

Regardless of that protocol described by many people in authority, has it been proven that protocol is required?

In the article you posted it states Biden was warned back in 2008. As far as I’m concerned that qualifies as private counsel. He should have known this could have happened since 2008 & the public scrutiny & shame that could happen.

Off topic here, I arrived early for Mass Thursday night to go to confession. However there was a long line & I didn’t make it. The priest came out, saw me & others waiting. He apologized then went to celebrate Mass.

So I go to Mass & of course I’m thinking I better not present myself. Father knows I was in line to confess & hadn’t.

Then I start looking around & notice a couple of the people who were waiting with me also there. I wondered if they would present themselves.

Then I realized, I don’t know if they were going to confess mortal or veniel sins & neither does the priest. As this was the last opportunity for reconciliation before 1st Saturday many people were probably their in preparation for that. I’ve done it myself several times with only veniel sins on my conscience.

Lesson learned, I shouldn’t judge because I don’t know.
