My dear friend Joe passed today. He suffered from ALS. He was a cheerful person to share mass with. Always pious even in his diminished state. He will be missed.

Eternal rest grant unto Joe, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

***Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death
Amen.

:crossrc:***

Gracious and merciful Father, please have mercy on his soul, and grant comfort to his family and loved ones.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

Praying for Joe, and for his family and friends.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

**Blessed are you,
Mother of my Lord,
For you have believed the Word of God.

In faith and love,
You have pondered the Words and actions of God
In your life and the life of God’s people.

With Jesus we call you mother.
Pray for us,
And ask your Son to lead us to the Father.

Amen.**

Rest in peace Joe and may God comfort and strengthen your family.

**By Thy resurrection from the dead, O Christ, death no longer hath dominion over those who die in holiness. So, we beseech Thee, give rest to Joe in Thy sanctuary and in Abraham’s bosom. **

Prayer for the Dead

O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful,
grant unto the souls of Thy departed servants
full remission of all their sins,
that through the help of our pious supplications
they may obtain that pardon
which they have always desired.
Thou Who livest and reignest world without end.

Amen.

Eternal rest grant unto Joe, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon him.

May he rest in peace.

Amen.
