Joel Osteen?

Most priests and religious aren’t even paid thousands of dollars. This past week there have been episodes of The Vortex where Michael Voris describes a bit of what goes on behind the scenes at churchmilitant.tv. The people who work there are not religious, but they don’t get paid very much. They have a staff of about 20, who work there to make a living, but more so because they understand the sorry shape our Church is in and want to do whatever they can to teach the faith to those who subscribe to their website. I’ve been a pretty careful follower of ChurchMilitant.tv, I viewed most of the behind the scenes videos. I’m pretty sure he said the staff holds Mass every morning in the on-site chapel. It really is a nice chapel. They showed the desks of the workers, I’m pretty sure every one had religious icons, figurines, and crosses on them. Some were praying at their desks. His staff does a wonderful job. I donate regularly.


I agree with the common sentiment of this thread. Joel Osteen does his best to be a good guy. I would put him in a general spiritual, self-help category. I once watched an entire show, he basically says what he wants, not necessarily important things people of this time need to hear.

It just really raises red flags to me when you see this many people surrounding a man. If he wasn’t there none of the people would be either. They go mainly for the preacher not for God.

Why red flag? He has probably brought many to Jesus. WhAt are you doing to bring people to Christ. His style works for many like it or not and I think many go to get to God not stare at Joel Osteen its not a pop concert… God bless

When people’s ears get tickled do they pick up their cross and follow Jesus?

Just came across Joel Osteen on TV the other day. I can’t stand him.

Each time someone asks him a question in which he would have to take a stand on a position, he ALWAYS backpeddles. I also question his knowledge of the Bible – I heard him refer to “stories in the Bible” but he didn’t even tell us which ones. He doesn’t just cherry-pick verses, he completely misinterprets them into the false “prosperity gospel”.

There isn’t even a crucifix or cross anywhere on his church’s property to remind us of Christ’s sacrifice. Nor does his church even call itself “Christian”! You have to actually hunt to find the name “Christ” or “Jesus” on his website.

I can see how people can easily fall into this trap. But it’s a bunch of showboating and feel-goodery. Nothing to hold a someone accountable to God. And absolutely no intellectual rigor of any sort.

I agree with what you said. He is a good one to tell a story and have people listen.
