Not upset about what you said about Osteen. I don’t believe in his preaching or his teachings eather. but I am upset about being attacked because I’m ordained.

We went from Joel Osteen, to me being ordained, to bishop’s, to the first church, then to a joke. Why can’t you stick with the question at hand. Why do you have to question everything eles except the main question why? This is question about Joel Osteen not me.
All I said was I am a ordained minister and you took it to another level why? What does me being ordained have to do with Joel Osteen? Do you have a problem sticking to the subject or do you have to wonder off on something that has nothing to do with the main question. Do you enjoy what you do to other people? Is that what your Catholic faith tells you to do, put others down for their beliefs,. Don’t it teach you to love one another, to be kind to eachother. I really don’t understand why you must treat others who don’t agree with your beliefs in such a hostile manner. If you want people to become a Catholic you are going about it the wrong way. All I did was comment on Joel Osteen and I said I don’t agree with his teaching or the way he preaches wasn’t that good enough for you. I guess not because you started to question me being ordained. My god man I ageed with you on Olsteen you should be happy that a non-dom minister disagrees with another non-dom minister. But you had to question me and judge my on my being ondained. Judgement is up to God not you. I have to answer to him if I’m wrong not you. I have never called anything you believe in some kind of joke, but you find that you have to, so I ask you who is acting a clown now. Not me I stick to the subject, the joke is the one who don’t stick to the subject.

rev. Please show me the post and # that I said any think about you being a rev and also the post with # only then what I said about Olsteen and in fact I did not know your are a rev until you statred with gettin upset—I,l waite for your replyt

but, back to the subject of joe olsteen.
if you can be ordained as a pastor based on the Bible alone, so can joe olsteen. he will claim the same as you claim. that is my point. i dont mean no offense to you.

the Catechism of the Church says: “all men has the obligation to seek the Truth, speacially in matters pertaining to God and His Church.”

Still you keep talking about me being ordained. THAT IS NOT THE SUBJECT, I AM NOT THE SUBJECT, OSTEEN IS THE SUBJECT. One more time, I DO NOT AGREE WITH OSTEEN’S PREACHING OR HIS TEACHINGS I beleive he is a false prophet.I said I just gave a sermon on this subject and gave ya’ll abrief look at what I discovered. But ya’ll overlooked that and started on me being ordained. That is why I call you vultures I have had

And all I get is the word “truth” Who’s truth nobody will say, all ya’ll say the “truth” Well my religion is the “truth” to me just like your religion is the “truth” to you. I asked time and time again WHO"S TRUTH but all I get is the “truth.” Ya’ll say the "truth will set you free. Is it God’s truth or the catholic truth. Ya’ll say to share the “truth” what truth who’s truth.
I have shown you in the bible, gave you definations, and yet ya’ll have given me nothing, no proof, just the one word “TRUTH.” And then I get the apostiles sent their seccessors through the cahtolic church 2000 years ago. Prove it to me. Were in the bible does it say through the catholic church were? I have proven different Ephesisns 4:11-12 Apostiles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers no were does it say through the catholic church only. Ya’ll can’t prove it.
 
Like I said Show me the post and the #3 that I said any thing about you being a rev.

I can see you as a rev ==Martin Luther the founder of Sola Scriptura was afraidt at the end of your his life said any milfmaid that can read can how start a new christian denomination church based on his////her interpretation of the bible. and I think we are up to about 35000 now

His Bishop and his Bishop, all the way back to the Apostles. That is how I know it is the true Church of Christ

Rev Kevin,

For example, I’m in the Diocese of Beaumont (about 90 miles east of you) and my bishop can trace the trail of bishops who ordained his successors all the way back to the Apostles. That’s what the Church means by saying she is Apostolic.

Once again this was about osteen not me why do you people have a hard time with that. I am not osteen ok get off my back about being ordained i really dont believe its any of your business I made a simple comment about osteen and it all of a sudden became about me
being ordained what are ya’ll a bunch of ignorant people who cant stick to one subject but have to hammer someone because he is ordained and cant understand it was about osteen. i have had enough of ya’ll hammering me about being ordained seems me being ordained is more important that osteen being a false prophet ya’lls prioritys are messe up.

If you looked at my previous posts, I’ve asked people several time to switch back to the Joel Osteen topic. In my haste while jumping around multiple threads, however, I saw the last few posts of this thread and forgot what the topic was (an honest mistake if you see how far the topic has drifted). My apologies for my error.

Although… I see you didn’t mind answering questions about your ordination until people starting probing. 😉

But, you’ve got to understand where most of my fellows posters are coming from. If someone walked up to the Policeman’s Ball in a rented costume and claimed to be a policeman, do you think the other cops would mind?

That’s how it looks when you say you are validly ordained. This would make a great thread. But you are right. It doesn’t belong on this thread. Why don’t one of the guys that insists on keeping to this off-topic line of questioning simply start up a new thread and invite Rev Kevin to join?

In the meantime, Kevin, I will not post on this thread any longer unless the topic drifts back to Mr. Olsteen.

BTW, what part of “outside of Houston”? I live in Sour Lake which is just west (and a tad north) of Beaumont… 90 miles east of Houston. Some people would call that “just outside of Houston”. 😉

thank you but after being probed and put down and said that I’m not real because i’m ordained through another religion you kinda of get sick of it.
You go to a policeman’s ball and it is a city policemans ball and a dps officer showes up in his uniform, he’s still a cop but in a different department. Do they shun him because he’s not a city cop or do they welcome him. They both do the samt thing just one has more authority than the other… My brother is a state trooper in Indiana and he has jursdiction in the hole state and a city cop has jurisdiction in his city only. But they work together all the same.

When I was young I heard John Osteen preach. The man could give a rising rowdy hellfire speech like any worth his salt Southern Baptist preacher. I understand he was SBC before founding Lakewood.

I didn’t agree with what John Osteen preached all the time, but I really felt his heart was in the right place. Can’t say that as much about Joel. He does give good motivational talks though. Probably give Tony Robbins a run for his money.

Don’t just want to pick on the SBC and the Charismatics as my own United Methodist Church has KirbyJon Caldwell who is another preacher of the “Name it and Claim it” gospel.
 
I used to have a work supervisor who lived and died by Joel Osteen and his message, so I briefly watched him on television one morning. All I could think was “this guy’s all fluff and no stuff.” I bet he loses a lot of his congregation because he doesn’t feed them. Eventually, people get tired of hearing the feel good lovey dovey garbage and they want to hear the real deal. I think Joel might be a good starting point for someone who has no foundation at all, but if someone’s really searching for the Lord, they’ll move past Osteen and on to others fairly quickly.
