Can some one explain this for me?

John 10:9 reads DRB I am the door. If any one enter by me he shall be safe, and shall go in and out, and shall find pasture.

what does it mean to go in and out. Once you are Jesus flock why would we want to go out?

I would say that, as long as we are in the world, we go in and out. That is to say, when we gather together with other believers, we are “in” the fold (we have come in through the “door” of Jesus Christ), but when we are not with other believers (at work, school, shopping, etc…), we are “out” of the gate and among wolves (though our Good Shephard is always watching over us). In or out, we are always to be a witness to God and to Jesus Christ our saviour.

At night, the shepherds would herd their flocks into caves to keep them safe from wild animals. The shepherd would lie down at the entrance of the cave forming a human “door” or “gate” that kept the sheep in and the predators out.

The sheep would come in for safety and go out to find food.

His name means God delivers us. He said you must believe in his name. When you enter by this door you have been taken up from existence by the spirit God our father who is in heaven.

When you come out through this door, you descend from heaven reborn of his spirit.

Another good one. So after I descend from heaven9so to speak0 reborn of His spirit I should be ready to spread His word.

This particular verse is a symbolism. It means that the Isrealites in the Old Testament went through the blood sealed door on that first Passover night and found safety. Protected and redeemed by the sacrificial blood, they went out the next morning and began journey toward the good pasture, the land of promise.
