John 3: 3-7 born again experience v.s. baptism

I do believe the bible gives exact direction on how to baptize: Fully submerged, in Jesus’ name. That’s how it was practiced by Jesus’ disciples.

Because there is a rhyme and a reason behind it. Jesus’ name is the only name under heaven whereby we must be saved. When the disciples cast our demons ans healed the sick, what did they say? It was some variation of “the name of Jesus”, or “the Lord Jesus” or “Jesus Christ”

We are to be fully submerged because the bible says we are buried with Him in Water baptism. Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12. Are you buried if someone were to sprinkle dirt on you? No.

Only texts decades and centuries later “add” more detail to how baptism is done… three times, sprinkling… in the nude. These command have been added by men, not by God.

No, not so much later. The Didache was written about the same time as John’s works, and has this:

Chapter 7. Concerning Baptism. And concerning baptism, baptize this way: Having first said all these things, baptize into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, in living water. But if you have no living water, baptize into other water; and if you cannot do so in cold water, do so in warm. But if you have neither, pour out water three times upon the head into the name of Father and Son and Holy Spirit. But before the baptism let the baptizer fast, and the baptized, and whoever else can; but you shall order the baptized to fast one or two days before.

There was not always “plenty of water” available. Desert communities held water in careful reserve, because it was a life or death matter. It would be very unusual to find an immersion font in some areas.
