John 6:25-71. Help me understand something

I dont know why some people dont participate in the Eucharist… maybe they dont believe the words they speak.

“Lord I am not worthy, that You should enter under my roof… but only say the word and my soul shall be healed”

Mayne they think they are not worthy or their souls are not healed.
 
The way I approach this subject with Protestants is this: it is not about your interpretation of this verse or mine. What matters is what happened ever since, the history of Christianity. The Apostles went ahead and taught and practiced the Real Presence. The early Church Fathers are unanimous about witnessing to the Real Presence. No real re-interpretation arose until Luther came along. Otherwise show me your witnesses.
 
It’s important to believe in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, but I think the Gospel passage you mention is not necessarily a good basis for arguing that. In this passage Jesus is not distributing tangible bread, or saying anything about what tangible bread could be consecrated to become. He says it is the true bread from Heaven that gives Life — not the tangible manna — and He says that He Himself is that Heavenly (intangible) bread.

No but he is laying the groundwork for the tangile bread(his body) that he will give us. He is the final Passover sacrificial lamb and the jews at the first passover didnt just spread blood over their door posts they ate of that sacrificial lamb.
