The thing to remember about Hagee is that he is a hardcore dispensationalist . Therefore buy holding to this form of theology he is anti-catholic by default.

Nonsense; they get the courtesy of being called “churches” and list themselves as such in the telephone book. As a Protestant I could have chosen any brand of gospel or just hopped from “church” to “church” and never had anyone persecute me for it. When I became Catholic it has never stopped. I had a man call me a few weeks ago and talk terrible to me telling
me that I needed to come out of the Catholic Church. He then proceeded to send me drivel about the Catholic Church that was so far-fetched that it was pathetic. Two weeks later he sent me some more.

He teaches this drivel in his SS class at a local Church of the Nazarene. I sent the info he sent me to his District Superintendent who told me that this man was a “loose canon” and yet this 70 year old man has been allowed to teach a SS class for many years in that denomination. He teaches his people to take Catholics out of the Catholic Church yet when I questioned him, he knows absolutely nothing of the origins of Protestant doctrine.

I compared him to John Hagee, Tim LaHaye and some of his heroes and he wrote in his letter to me, “WOW!” “WOW!” “WHat an honor!” Believe me it was not meant as an honor.
This isn’t any different than the Catholics who have come to my door twice now trying to get me to come back to church. They are using lies to attempt to lure me back. You I’m sure would defend anything that may be said here such as, I cannot be saved anywhere else besides the Catholic church and that I ultimately need Mary as an ingredient for my salvation. You would probably agree with this but to me, it’s garbage. I have been going to church with my wife and my son in their Anglican church for a while. I can now understand why she would not consider becoming Catholic and besides, a family is now all together in church instead of separated on Sunday morning.

Actually, you, your wife and son are Catholic. Just not in full communion.

a family is now all together in church instead of separated on Sunday morning.
Whatever is easier for you, right?

Matt. 10:34-36
Code:
Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword.
35
For I have come to set a man ‘against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
36
and one’s enemies will be those of his household.’

are you trying to assert that this proves divinity?
Huh ?

Since those who walked with Jesus understood that he founded an assembly of believers ( Church means “Assembly”) they organized it and spread it, defended it and died for it.

Which of their actions do you think they were wrong about and why do you think you know better?

Does the Catholic church really produce saints?
Yes.

St. Peter, St. Paul, St. Barnabas, St. Matthias, St. Andrew, St. Mark, St. Luke, St. John, St. James, St. Jude, and all the Apostles. Their successors, St. Linus, St. Clement of Rome, St. Ignatius, St. Polycarp, St. Anathasius, St. Augustine, St. Ireneaus, St. Justin Martyr, St. Gregory, St. Cecilia, St. St. Perpetua & Felicity, St. Januarius and Saint Philomena, St. Joan of Arc.

All saints here died for their faith. They live and imitated Jesus Christ, and were reward rightly for their faith. There are other saints which I have not mention.

St. Clare St. John Vianney St.Catherine Laboure St. Bernardette
St. Francis Xavier St. Margaret M Alq. Bl. Anne. Marie Taigi St. Vincent de Paul
Blessed Imelda

Not to mention the Eastern Orthodox Saints.

Google on St. John Maximovitch ( St. John of Sanghai and San Fransisco). The Church is still producing Saints today…

Do a search on Hagee, you will find that he lost a part of his church because of the finances of his church. Apparently in one part of the church, he makes almost 9,000 an hour. He made well over a million dollars through his church in about a years time.
And Jimmy Swaggart used to/still makes more than that, I think.

what about those who were murdered by the Catholic church for their beliefs especially those during the Reformation?

Now, assuming you’re Protestant…

The Church was founded by Jesus Christ .: it is divine. Who do you think declared that Holy Writ was inspired? It wasn’t Jesus (at least not directly), but His Church, invested with authority and protection from teaching error (formally, doctrinally).

Feel free to read the New Testament over again as well as the Church Fathers (which I think Hagee pretty much attacks as well).

This is a very sloppy and overgeneralized presentation of what occurred during the Protestant Revolt. Yes, many were murdered (including Catholics). Many were justly silenced as they were obstinately spreading heresy, fomenting schism, desecrating churches and sacraments, etc. etc.

Its a pity Protestantism wasn’t obliterated in its advent.

They were murder by Catholics not the Catholic Church. Second, the Protestants were no worst. They killed St. Thomas Moore for refusing to submit to King Henry the VIII.

The Reformation itself form great Leaders of the Catholic Church.

Men like:
  1. St. Francis de Sales.
  2. St. Thomas More.
  3. St. Pius V
  4. St. Francis of Loyola
  5. St. Charles Borromeo.
In England, Between 1535 and 1540, under Thomas Cromwell, the policy known as the Dissolution of the Monasteries was put into effect. The veneration of some Saints, certain pilgrimages and some pilgrim shrines were also attacked. Huge amounts of church land and property passed into the hands of the crown and ultimately into those of the nobility and gentry. The vested interest thus created made for a powerful force in support of the dissolutions.

There were many notable opponents to the Henrician Reformation, such as Thomas More and Bishop John Fisher, who were executed for their opposition. But there was also a growing party of Protestants who were imbued with the Zwinglian and Calvinistic doctrines now current on the Continent. When Henry died he was succeeded by his Protestant son Edward VI, who, through his empowered councilors (with the King being only nine years old at his succession and not yet sixteen at his death) the Duke of Somerset and the Duke of Northumberland, ordered the destruction of images in churches, and the closing of the chantries. Under Edward VI Protestantism was established unequivocally in doctrinal terms. Yet, at a popular level, religion in England was still in a state of flux. Following a brief Roman Catholic reaction during the reign of Mary 1553-1558, a loose consensus developed during the reign of Elizabeth I, though this point is one of considerable debate among historians.

That’s according to Wikipedia Inc. Of course the Queen of Spain was just as bad. Still the Catholic Church didn’t condone violence. It’s laity however, did so. They are after all sinners.

Oliver Cromwell was deemed a moderate because he massacred only Catholics and Anglicans

But on to more relevant headlines…Hagee is a total jerk. God bless him.

It certainly is a pity. Protestantism is the worst thing that ever happened to the world. We can lay many of the world’s problems at the feet of Protestantism.

Finally someone who sees heresy for what it is and not just some little thing to twitter at. Thanks “havemercy”…

Blessed Inquisition; where are you now that we need you!!!

👍 When I hear Hagee it reminds me of Shakespeare’s line, “a tale told by an idiot, with sound and fury signifying NOTHING!”😃

First, show me in Scripture where the church is divine. Next, you statement about being justly silenced is a joke. Many who did not agree with the teachings of Catholicism were murdered for their beliefs especially during the Reformation. FYI, The Reformation succeeded because it was the will of God.

I’m confused. The Church ( Both East and West) wrote and compiled the scriptures… How do you account for that?

Have you ever wondered why there are just four Gospels and not ten or twelve, or just one? How could a corrupt Church have been able to decide which scriptures were reflective of the faith and discared those that were not ? It doesnt make sense

The Protestant Communites has mostly suceeded in breaking Christianity into thousands of little willful . Surely by God’s mercy Protestants can be saved, but it’s a hurdle to overcome

. Every heresy the Early Church fought against is once again alive and well in Protestantis ( Arianism anyone??) If you call that sucess…
