I just watched Hagee and he made the following statements

No difference between Catholics and Muslims in terms of killing Jews

Crusades were about killing Jews by Catholics

Hitler and The Catholic Church were one

Catholic Church stole money from Jews

Please watch this program today, its on many different channels and should repeat tomorrow, this is classic bad history in regards to the Catholic Church.

…I don’t listen to that stuff…not a word…Hagee has no influence in my life whatsoever…and his words mean nothing to me.
 
He is typical of the breed. Amen, praise the Lord, send me your money.
 
hmmm… Ive really enjoyed listening to Hagee. Many years Ive caught him here and there (tv and radio) - and never have I heard anything anti-catholic coming form him - and yes, I do listen for it!

Do a search on Hagee, you will find that he lost a part of his church because of the finances of his church. Apparently in one part of the church, he makes almost 9,000 an hour. He made well over a million dollars through his church in about a years time.

I am not sure what program you are referring to, but John Hagee was interviewed yesterday by NPR’s show Fresh Air, with Terri Gross. Hagee is a spell-binding preacher, but what he says in normal conversational voice is not at all convincing: with sloppy reasoning and bizarre conclusions.

Apparently he is hawking the paperback release of his book Jerusalem Countdown One of the reader reviews of this book noted that the author “compares Catholicism with Satanism and paganism”. The review by Jeffrey Coogan skewers Hagee’s book. Here is an example:
Another funny one was when he quoted the early Church Fathers as calling the Jews “shylocks” (pg 72). Since that word was only coined by Shakespeare some 1200 years or so after the Church Fathers, I was glad to see a rare citation next to the quote. Unfortunately, Hagee’s source for the quote was one of his own books!

All of the apostles were told to sell everything. they were to bring nothing but completely rely on God for all their needs. Why don’t these pastor take a lesson from the Bible that they worship?

I’ve listened to and watched John Hagee in the past, and I have yet to find any anti-catholic comments made from him. His preaching is very fiery, and his moral opinions are refreshing especially in the age of relativism. When he quotes Church Fathers, he does lack an understanding of history not to mention intellectual discernment, but I’ve always chalked it up to him being ignorant. If he were anti-catholic, it would surprise me, considering his base is in San Antonio.

I watched the show you are referring to on Sunday evening. He does say that the “roman church” has always killed jews and we were no different than the Muslims.

And yes, he was hawking his new book Jerusalem Countdown. I come from an Evangelical Protestant background and lost faith in Mr. Hagee many moons before Catholicism ever came along. My biggest beef with him is that at least once a year, he does a big show hawking a new book and his version of the end of the world usually changes in some way in each show/book.

I took a class on the Crusades in college, and actually, the church leaders never said that Catholics should kill Jews. Whenever Catholic crusaders did kill Jews, the church leaders would condemn the actions, and there are many speeches by Bernard of Clairveaux which tell Crusaders that they must not kill or harm Jews in any way.

That’s odd. Sometimes when I am channel surfing, he will be preaching and I stop to hear what he has to say and I have heard many anti-Catholic comments. Since it is rare that I watch him, I figured that it is a common theme for him.
 
Basically he said that The Roman Church killed Jews in the holy land and stole all their money, I have heard his rants before, but this was amazingly bad.
Its the episode where he is talking about Islam and how it is divided from the Jews.
 
:rolleyes: I never watch him ,cause he’s too loud and seems sometimes to rant and rave. He is also buddying up to the Jews.They had some sort of festival deal at Cornerstone Church here in San Antonio,wish I could find the flyer they sent me.
Some deal to celebrate the feastival of tabernacles or some such stuff.kind of a joint christian-jew deal. Anyhow,I thought of going to warn any jews Run,Run for your life,they’re only trying to convert you! Sounds silly I know,but i feel people like him are only going to use jews for their own religious ends,not because they truly care about them.
 
Yeah, I saw that episode too…very anti-Catholic indeed. How about doing the sign of the cross whenever he says anti-catholic spew? Or writing an email or letter to his ministry with the REAL teachings of the Church? I’ve done the later with Frances Swaggart and her year-long “Catholicism–Modern Day Whore of Babylon” series in the Evangelist.
 
There’s this new fad among groups like his that take a few verses out of context about blessing Israel making one prosperous. For this reason, they try and act all pro-Jewish, evening going so far as taking liberties with facts and reality.

Don’t get me wrong, we should be charitable and respectful to Jews, but not for the reasons Hagee and company think.
 
I remember many years ago there was a large conference in my city where the whole three day conference would be about Jesus. Catholic Churches all over the city participated. Protestant Churches too, non-denomination, Lutheran, Methodist, AG, etc, but Mr. Hagee refused to participate because he found out that the Catholics were brining in people from up north that were experts at mass hypnosis and were going to try to convert attendees to become Catholics. I attended all three days, and there were great speakers, Catholic and non-catholic and all they talked was about Jesus. On Sunday, there were two separate services. One for a Catholic Mass and another for a Protestant non-denominational service. Nobody critizied the other. Everybody just shared what they hold most in common and it was about Jesus…Oh, no mass hypnosis by the way. Darn…😛
 
Many protestant preachers around your own parishes are preaching this very thing … which scare the day lights out of me!

How much credance are you willing to give to a money preacher who resembles a troll?

You’d never see a sermon given by Bishop Sheen or Fr. Corapi that contained such stupid remarks.👍
 
Watch any espisode of his show, Does anyone else notice all of the security around the church, Its like hes the President or something.

Does anyone know if he has been threatened?
