Word usage has been in question for over two threads.

Shared and agreed upon word usage is important for the exchange of thoughts and ideas. Without it, two people may not understand each other. Even worse, they may misunderstand each other, both thinking they now share a position!

If you have any legal professionals or engineers in your life, ask them about this. For such people are sometimes occupational in a position in which they must pay close attention to word usage

You are the only one questioning word usage of the word canceled. You stated you have no problem with the word in prior posts. I think most posters of these forums understand how currently the word canceled is being used.

Well - President Carter also signed the legislation that restored US citizenship to - first - General Robert E Lee of the Confederate Army and then followed that up
with - second - restoring US citizenship to Confederate President Jefferson Davis a couple of years later … Why was that necessary to do in the 1970s? … that is not merely standing next to his states’s flag … that was a failure to use a “veto” pen if nothing else!

Under today’s standards [though I never understood why that was done - not then and not now] there should be blanket condemnation of that racist and hurtful insult to the African American community

I can’t say I was aware of it. I tried reading a bit just now on it, and i can’t get on the same page as the explanations for it.
