John Paul II: "I can't do anything. You must pray to this Priest"

BTW, I just wanted to point out that I find curious that a Pope would refer to another Pope as ‘a priest’ instead…interesting, no? It seems that there is a ‘leap’ to become a priest, and then it is only a matter of ‘degree’ after that all the way to Pope!
Very good point. We hold and confess that priests receive, at their ordination, in a supernatural way, a sign, (a “special character”) that cannot be effaced. They are “priests for ever”. If a priest advances to receive the full priesthood which is the bishopcy or even the petrine ministry, this add nothing to that “sign”. Nothing in matter of Sanctifying Grace, but maybe something we name “graces” without capital letter.
This miracle, if confirmed by Our Holy Mother, confirms wht we already know from the divine teaching.

I appreciate your reply. I, of course, fully accept that she was a righteous martyr whom deserves prayers from the Faithful just like any other saint, and I am certainly not deny any miracle in St. Joan’s life. However, I still wonder as to why God would be that interested in whether France would be ruled by the English or French. I guess that world history was supposed to play out in that way, but I am still somewhat perplexed about this. For one thing, all of W. Europe was Catholic at that time.
As Catholics we accept the Church’s confirmation that the **Blessed St. Joan :knight2: of Arc’s **visions . . . which directed her to follow in the footsteps of her . . . +Crucified Lord . . . Jesus . . . **the Blessed Christ **. . . were investigated and confirmed to be of God by the Holy See, and . . . actually . . . the purpose for her life was not so much “political” but rather “salvivic” . . . involving the salvation of a whole country of people . . . France . . . as part of a world of people of which that country was an integral part . . . Here we see God’s Holy Hand specifically and clearly revealing itself as intervening in the history of mankind upon the earth for all mankind’s good . . . and gaining the complete victory . . . St. Joan was a true martyr of the Church . . . who gave her life for Christ for the salvation of her people . . . even as our Lord Jesus gave His life for the salvation of all mankind on His Holy Cross . . .

The proof that her 1) visions were sent from God was 2) the specific miraculous nature of the victories God achieved 3) through her humble holy obedience to the visions . . . and Holy Mother Church has recognized and investigated this and has honored her as God’s chosen servant by making her a canonized Saint according to the stringent criteria set up by the Roman Catholic Church necessary for Sainthood . . . even as the canonization proof for Pope Pius XII will be ascertained by the Holy See by investigating the **1) reported vision of Pope John Paul the Great’s appearance 2) ** the humble obedience of the person to whom the vision was given, and 3) the “miracle” mentioned in the original post . . . the same pattern is in play involving the Holy See . . .

God bless . . .

I’m curious, you live in Bucharest, are Israelite and know so much about the priesthood? Hm, mm… you must have a REALLY interesting life story! 😃

But God knew what was coming next… 👍

You are looking only at the “outward” appearance of a very few certain things of that age . . . Sacred :bible1: Scripture . . . clearly teaches that God seeth the heart ❤️ of all matters on earth and in the heavens . . . the battle here on earth is always between good and evil . . . praise be to God good was victorious in this war because of His faithful servant **St. Joan :knight2: of Arc **. . . and those who listened to and followed her guidance as God’s servant . . . Scripture teaches that countries/nations have personal boundaries and individual identities . . . just as people have . . . and are judged as such . . . lustfully transgressing those boundaries for personal gain and domination is grave sin . . .

:bible1: “For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and power, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places.” *** Ephesians 6:12 drv***

You need to read and study the Old Testament if you want to further learn and understand the constant battle between **good **and evil from God’s perspective . . . in particular when it comes to nation against nation battles . . .

Note it separated France from England; so France was not led out of the Church by Henry VIII a few years later.

That he refers to himself and Pius XII as priests is a fine point of Church teaching. It is interesting that it is in his dream. It is not something one would tend to include from ones own knowledge. It seems to me to give validation to the tale. [Of course that isn’t worth even :twocents: unless they appoint me to the Vatican staff. :D]

I see what you mean. I thank you again.

I guess that you are right; I was not thinking about the Reformation at the time of my writing.

WOW!! I’d never thought of countries & nations having identities. That gives me something to think about. Thank You!!!

It seems as if these two Popes have worked together before & I’m not surprised that they are doing so now.
PS. The thing that the liberal arm of the Church, here in the U.S., most certainly DON’T want to see another conservative Pope canonized!!! Don’t ya’ just love it!!!😉
How does your story show that Pius XII and JPII worked together during WWII?

I’m not sure how you concluded that. It sure would seem strange for a saint, who sees God face to face, to respond to a prayer request by saying “I can’t do anything”. Praying for another person is “something”, and if a person is in heaven they are able to do that. In fact, even those in purgatory can pray.
In this context (I keep using that phrase because this context is all we have to go on), another possibility is that God intends to manifest Ven. Pope Pius XII’s presence in heaven through this particular miracle and has reserved it to him. Thus, the Ven. Pope John Paul’s statement.

Pope Pius XII ordered the manufacture, issuing & transporting of fake Baptismal certificates for the Jews. Thus they became “Catholics”, not Jews. Pope John XXIII, then Angelo Roncalli was the Apostolic Delegate to Turkey during WWII & assisted him in doing so. If I creditted JPII with this, I apologize. I must have been addled when I wrote my post. I’ll look back & see.

:o Sorry, I DID get my Pope John’s confused. The thread is about John Paul II & I was speaking of John XXIII. So sorry.

I interpret it that God had granted certain miracles at Pope John Paul’s request, but told him that this one was reserved because He wanted to honor Pope Pius.
Yes, that is the interpretation that occurred to me, too!
