I’ve had some pretty weird dreams that I don’t want to be interpreted.

Personally, people like him are a dime a dozen. If God sends me an important dream I assume he’ll make it understandable. St. Joseph and the Wiseman didn’t require training courses to understand the warnings given to them in their dreams. Beware charlatans and false prophets!

It is well known that God uses people as His instruments. That doesn’t mean God used this person to “teach people” how to understand their dreams and/or visions. If God wants you to understand a dream you’ve had, He makes it understandable to you directly.

Just an observation. I’ve noticed a number of these threads lately where evangelical posters give the names of people who they claim teach others how to interpret dreams and visions. The only Teacher a Christian needs is God. The Holy Spirit is the One who interprets dreams and/or visions. And He makes sure the person who has them understands them. There is no need for people like the man you describe to do it for you.
 
I haven’t heard this man’s testimony and have no interest in hearing it. But God uses many methods of bringing people to Him. Sometimes, He uses other people.
 
If JPJ heard 2012 warning in his head it discredits him with me. My sons were a little fearful about the year 2012 because of all the hype referencing sources from ancient cultures, religions and spiritualists. This started around 2010 for my boys. That’s when they asked me if I thought anything would happen. I told them that God hasn’t given a date. Since it is all over the media now and no one mentions God I think God will make sure nothing happens. If anything does happen God will make sure everyone knows that it His doing or else He wouldn’t bother. I told my sons that it was just people trying to sell books. Nothing more… Now we laugh at it. I don’t mean to offend but I think John Paul Jackson has a little of that book bug in him too.

Yes 2012 was a year that he said

It was the bottom of the finincial crash.
I also thought he was saying it was going to be worse.

Based on what data, precisely? The Dow, as shown above ^ had rebounded quite well by 2012
 
Well, he seems to spend a lot of time on the apocalypse, which seems like a waste of time in light of Matther 25:13… Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
He also dedicated a whole book to the evils of Pokemon, which seems like a great use of time, when people are starving and hungry in the world.

I’ve mentioned this before in other contexts, but it bears repeating here. The way it was explained to me, 99.99999% of dreams are the subconscious mind’s attempts to make sense out of random neural firings in the brain while one is asleep. I dream a LOT while I sleep; that explanation fits my dreams perfectly, and that is all the “understanding of dreams” that I need. If God wants to get a message thru to me in a dream, it will be so radically different from my usual dreams, and so clear, that no outside explanation will be needed.

Someone is sure to bring up the question, “Well, why then did Joseph and Daniel have to explain the dreams of Pharaoh and Nebuchadnezzar?” In those cases, the reason was that the unusual qualities of those two interpreters could be recognized by supreme authority figures, who would then put them in positions where they could be useful.
