But where’s your scriptural justification for not including Jesus as part of the “all”? You made the claim that “all” only referred to those human beings “conceived of both man and woman”. But the verse you cited makes no such stipulation.
Read Romans chapter 23 in context.

I can go on and on about citing verses have not having stipulation. I come to the conclusion that the Catholic church enforces unbiblical practices that were developed centuries after Jesus. And you will claim that they endorsed by Jesus and the apostles:

Infant baptism
sprinkel baptism
Mary worship
Idolitry
confession
the rosary
etc.

So if Jesus was fully man, then would He classify under “All”?

But yet, you ignore the rest of my post. How convenient.

For instance, in Romans 3:10, he says How can he make this claim when Luke tells us of Zechariah and Elizabeth in 1:6 I think you guys tend to focus on single verses and use them blindly, whereas you should take Scripture as a whole.

It’s that whole “forest and the trees” thing, in my opinion.
Honestly, I haven’t put much study in to that topic. I do believe that the Bible cannot contradict itself nor return void.

Chalk it up 0 / X all you want.

Again, Jesus said those who “BELIEVE” and are baptised will be saved. Do infants believe when they are baptised? No.
So now you are dropping the “infant baptism is a man-made tradition of later centuries” and saying, "Hey, it’s unbiblical. Those goal-posts shouldn’t be that easy to move, Rulki!!!

As is evidenced throughout Acts, numerous households were baptized. You claim there were no kids among the families or their servants (which were included in households). I say there would have been - either that, or the Apostles should have been more clearer when saying “households that don’t have kids”.

So, when you can’t see it from Scripture, simply look to the early Church. The Church baptized infants in the 1st century.
Purgatory, an unbiblical teaching, was adopted from the Orphic cult. (Bernstein & Green,History of Civilication p. 78).
Please give more details. I have no idea what an “Orphic cult” is.

Purgatory was adopted from Apostolic times, for the early Church prayed for the souls of the dead in the 1st century.

If you guys hadn’t have kicked out 7 books of the bible (what was that you were quoting in Revelation yesterday about adding and subtracting? tsk. tsk.), you woudn’t call it unbiblical.
Communion, again… see the post on the Passover.
Communion again… see “eating my flesh” symbolically equals “revile and loathing”. You haven’t answered that little conundrum yet.
I don’t see a parallel on mass being a re-presentation of Jesus’ sacrifice.
Of course you don’t. Your church has denied it for the 130 years (give or take a few) that you’ve been in existent. Join the Catholic Church and you’ll see the parallel as the Church has taught it for 2000 years!

Honestly, I haven’t put much study in to that topic. I do believe that the Bible cannot contradict itself nor return void.
I agree. That’s why you need to study that to realize that sometimes “All” doesn’t mean “All” and “none” doesn’t always mean “none”.

I would understand it completely though, before I used it to accused a Church of false teaching for 2000 years.

But hey, that’s just me! 😉

Gotta run, but I’ll be back.

Rulki, thanks for your time and your patience with me!! Through all our differences, know that I love you and consider you a brother (or sister, whatever the case may be!).

God Bless and keep up the faith!

Yes, I have to get back to work 🙂

I look forward to furthre converation in the near future.

God Bless,

Justin

Rulkie …

What Protestant sect do you belong to ? It will help us know your roots/indoctrinations.

Have you ever personally investigated the Catholic Church ? Ever
attended Mass on several occasions as a guest … to experience and learn firsthand about the roots of your Protestant faith ?

Doesn’t James teach in 5:16-20 that confession to others and intercessory prayer on behalf of others … is very efficacious / desirable ?

Spend a minimum of 3-4 weeks investigating Catholic Church … and H.S. will reveal things to you about the Church Universal you had never seen before. Are you aware how many Protestants are discovering the Catholic Church ? I’ve recently been led by H.S. to explore Catholicism … and my Protestant indoctrinations about evils and unscriptural basis of Catholicism has been exploded as baseless.

2 Tim 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

How could you say that just because it’s not written in God’s word doesn’t make it unbiblical?

The Jew’s of the Old Testament were not to modify the Torah. Their text strictly prohibits it (Deuteronomy 12:32). Now, God is an unchanging God, that same rule applies to us. It’s manifested all over the New Testament:
They weren’t to modify the Torah? Clearly Jesus could and did modify it - last time I checked there was a whole other Testament that He added!

Jesus gave His apostles the same authority and power that He had (‘just as the Father sent me, so am I sending you’ ‘what you bind on earth will be bound in heaven’) so they do too. And they chose to pass that on to their successors, as early Christians all knew, since they clearly listened to the teachings of such men as Ignatius and Polycarp who were taught by John the Beloved.

Do you worship on Sundays? Use altar calls or sinners prayers? Believe that Jesus is one person with two distinct natures (human and divine)? Where are any of these things in Scripture? Yet you seem to think they are OK to believe.

**Do you confess to a priest for the forgiveness of your sins like the 1st century Church?**No, I pray to God, only he can forgive sins. Remember, Jesus is the medeator between God and Man, not the Catholic Church.
Rulki, this is an interesting comment. I want to build the case for this.

You say emphatically, “A) Only God can forgive Sins, b) no mediators between God and man, c) and certainly not the Church” (I’m paraphrasing you, but I think I got the gist of it).

John 20:21-23 says:
(Jesus) said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit. 23 Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."
A good Catholic will agree with your point a), because ultimately, it is God forgiveness that matters to the sinner. But Jesus says some important things here:
  1. As the Father sent Jesus, so He sends the Apostles - What was Jesus’ mission? He was sent to forgive our sins. Now, Jesus sends the Apostles to forgive our sins. Did this need to have our sins forgiven die out with the Apostles? No, of course not.
  2. He gave them the Holy Spirit - WOW!! What an incredible Gift He gave the Apostles. This tells you that the next “power” He passes on is a BIG thing. Really Big!!! And what is that gift?
  3. Those sins that you forgive, they are forgiven. What does He mean? He means, “If you forgive someone’s sins, I will forgive their sins as well”. Big thing indeed, but the next thing is even bigger. How?
  4. Those sins you don’t forgive, they are not forgiven. This is the biggie!!! If you dare to refrain from forgiving someone… I WILL REFUSE TO FORGIVE THEM!!! That’s one of the reasons the Holy Spirit is given to the Apostles, so they will know when to forgive and when not to forgive.
Is this echoed anywhere else in Scripture?
Of course. In Matthew, when Jesus heals the paralytic, what do the crowds do. They praise God, “for giving this authority to men”. There are numerous other proofs of this divine gift.

And Rulki, I have to tell you, the Sacrament of Penance is one of the greatest gifts that Jesus left with His Church - 2nd only to the Eucharist and just ahead of the Communion of the Saints - in my book! I cannot fathom ever walking away from a gift such as this
