That is soooo funny!Some of those are REALLY cute! And my guess would be that younger girls and women could pull off the more modern fashions without drawing attention to themselves.
My mother is an avid sewer. My little sis always took a liking to it and does a great job. It was my punishment–no joke. Sis would have to read aloud (she hated) while I had to crochet or sew (I hated). We both so wished to trade places. All I remember of crocheting is how to chain stitch using my fingers…
Now my husband is a fantastic sewer. He likes the precision part. I like the planning and choosing fabrics part! (We have quite a large “stash” between us!)
I crochet because my mom and my sisters sewed. I never had to.
Now living so far away from them, I regret my decision.
One of our ladies at church in her early forties wears those 20’s style hats every week.
She looks great! (it actually started with chemo and she has continued after her hair grew back)
