I would like to join an ecumenical religious order under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Orthodox -Catholic Church (an Orthodox Church). Would there be any canonical reason I can’t do this? Adhering to a schismatic sect? Would it make me non-Catholic? I don’t want to leave the Roman Catholic Church. I just want to join this ecumenical religious order. If I join this religious order would I cease to be Catholic? Is there anything in canon law that could cause me trouble? Any specific way I need to state my position/state to stay out of trouble and active in Catholic parish life and ministry?
