Joining KOC: Looking for preperation materials

Hey,

I am taking my 1st Degree on Thursday and am looking for something to read to prepare me spiritually, perhaps something related to Catholic Knightly principles. I enjoyed St. Louis Advice to Son and am looking for any other similar works that are readily available online.

In addition are there any well-known religious sources on Catholic Knighthood that would be beneficial to read in the future?

There is a Knights of Columbus channel on YouTube; you can check out some of the post videos. I’d be very careful just searching for “Knights of Columbus” on YouTube as there are people who post unsubstantiated (to put it politely) information on YouTube as well. If you have any questions, please contact the Knight who is your sponsor and ask him your questions. Good luck and welcome! :knight1:
 
The videos on youtube are entertaining…especially the false first degree ceremony… I’m going to the 2nd and 3rd on Oct 18.

Go to kofc.org, then click on the “Know Your Faith” tab (for some reason I can’t get a url to post)

Look for the section in the middle that says “CIS Booklets” (CIS is Catholic Information Services…). There are tabs for several series: New Evangelization, Hart, Veratis, Devotional.

You really don’t have to prepare. Part of the degree ceremonies is pointing out your weaknesses and inspiring you to learn more about your faith. Hopefully you have a council filled with faithful men who pray and study together, and you will have many years of good fellowship.
