When we listen a term; joke then we start to laugh because jokes are always to make people laugh. When some one says something funny and we laugh its called joke and some definitions of jokes are included here like;
“Something said or done to evoke laughter or amusement, especially an amusing story with a punch line”,
“An amusing or ludicrous incident or situation”
.Actually, human beings are only the sensible creature in the world so being sensible s/he feels always sorrows, joys and tiredness and so on. When some one feels tiredness s/he needs relaxation and some fun so jokes are also the sources of fun. When we listen joke from others we laugh a lot which makes us so happy and excitement. Therefore, Jokes are necessary for laughing therapy. People are using laughing as a laughing therapy to control our anger. Jokes are needed in everyday life so that when we feel bored ourselves we can say it amongst our forum and take fun with it. So, jokes are also the parts of life.

Heartily agreed, Rambm! The Bible does not shrink from jokes, either. The very name of Peter may be seen as a joke in the Gospels, as is the name Onesimus in the Book of Philemon. Peter walking on water in Matthew 14:29-30 could be the inspiration for every Roadrunner cartoon in which Wiley Coyote runs off a cliff. Then there is Paul’s address to King Agrippa in Acts. Paul is brought before Agrippa in chains so that Agrippa may advise the proconsul Festus on what charges to level against Paul:

ESV: Acts Chapter 26

[28] And Agrippa said to Paul, In a short time would you persuade me to be a Christian? [29] And Paul said, Whether short or long, I would to God that not only you but also all who hear me this day might become such as I am—except for these chains.

When you think about it, seeing Jesus and Peter walking on water is a bit of humorous irony in itself, since Jesus is the Cornerstone (Rock) and Peter (Simon, nicknamed “Peter”, ‘the Rock’ of the Church), which in this circumstance could be viewed as two rocks ‘floating’ on water. 😃

God really does have a sense of humor. 😉

Just curious as to what this has to do with non-Catholic religions? I’m all for humor, but I’m not sure this is the right forum for this discussion.
