paul barlow:
lets talk about church leaders connected with evil men shall we. can your pope ever enter the usa as a war criminal who activly surported the mass murder of millions of Gods chosen people. How dare you judge others look at yourselves TEXT DELETED.
or has he repented of his sins oh wait a moment you cannot repent of murder of innocents. he did not need to hold the poison gas to be guilty he supported them and thus he will get their reward.
Is that what the LDS Church is teaching about Pope Benedict XVI? Hardly surprising.

flameburns623:
Are you attributing these charges to Pope Benedict XVI? If so, might I suggest that you have gone farther than even the survivors of the Holocaust have done? No Jewish authority of any standing has charged Benedict with supporting the mass murder of Jews during WWII.

You can’t? Really?

Luke 23: 33-34
33And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. 34Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.

Or do I misremember what happened to one Saul of Tarsus, someone who truly was guilty of innocent blood? See particularly Acts 22: 1-21 if this episode escapes your own memory.
murder of innocents. hitler youth ss guilty

I guess if you will believe Joseph Smith is a prophet and the Book of Mormon is legitimate then I guess you will believe anything. By the way, did you know that the word “gullible” is NOT in the dictionary?

I thought you were talking about Pope Pius XII.

Oh well said. That would certainly stand in a court of law. If that is the best you do then do not embarass yourself further with any further posts.

As someone who has studied the history of WWII for over thirty years I am not sure what source you are quoting but I am sure it has nothing to do with history and everything to do with attacking God’s true Church with lies.

so how does a comparison of elron and JS degenerate into bashing the Holy Father with unfounded allegations?

Really Paul, you need to behave.

Must have snuck a drink with caffeine in it.

I agree. If we are going to pursue the baseless charges against Benedict XVI, let’s start another thread. BTW, Paul–I have no vested interest in rehabilitating Benedict–I am NOT a Roman Catholic. The fact is that virtually no German male in the late 1930’s/1940’s could have NOT been inducted into the Hitler Youth. As I recollect, his TEACHER signed Ratzinger up, w/o his knowledge or permission. Ratzinger never attended meetings.

Jewish leaders of today have excellent interpersonal relations with Benedict, by some accounts warmer than the relations between Israel and JPII. And we explored all of these issues in other threads, not so very long ago. It’s all really old news by now.

Service in the Hitler Youth was compulsary after 1941. Ratzinger was only in the Hitler Youth for a short period because he got released from service as it conflicted with his pre-Seminary obligations. Later he was drafted as a Flak helper in support of an anti-aircraft battery. They guarded various facilities including a BMW aircraft engine plant north of Munich and later, the jet fighter base at Gilching, where Ratzinger served in telephone communications. After his class was released from service in September 1944, Ratzinger was put to work setting up anti-tank defences in the Hungarian border area of Austria in preparation for the expected Red Army offensive. When his unit was released from service in November 1944, he went home for three weeks, and then was drafted into the German army at Munich to receive basic infantry training in the nearby town of Traunstein. His unit served at various posts around the city but was never sent to the front.

Claims like those being made by Paul Barlow have absolutely no basis in reality. I do not know if this actually is being taught by someone connected to the Mormon Church or if Paul came up with it on his own but it is easily proven false with even a cursory examination of facts.

Seems to me y’all are gettting a little of what you been dishing out. It’s not much fun to have your religion attacked with what you consider to be baseless accucations and gross misrepresentations of the truth. Doesn’t the Bible teach “as ye sow, so shall ye reap”?

Maybe you should consider that when you post negatively about other people’s religions - like Scientology for example.

Difference is that Cahtolicism did not originate with a bet. And don’t worry, no prejudice is more deeply rooted in this country than anti-Catholicsm. History proves that.
