Not to mention he keeps insisting the Catholic Church be held to a different standard than the Mormons.

Church leaders involved in scandal = apostasy

dark history = apostasy

sex scandals = apostasy

Church members (priests) involved in criminal activity = apostasy

You must be kidding! Are you trying to compare the dark history of the Catholic Church with polygamy (which was practiced in the Bible by the way) practiced by the Mormon Church?

um…the times it was practiced in the Bible was the part BC. You might not know this, but not everything that people did in Old Testament times should be done now. So, to use the fact that it was done in the Old Testament so it was ok to do it in 1800s is really lame.

Polygamy in the Mormon Church was not a mistake! It was ordained by God for a period of time!

No, it was started because Joseph was caught having affairs. So, he decided to make a law permitting it. When Clinton heard about it, he said, “why didn;t I think of that?”

Sorry, the difference is huge! Besides, the scandals in the Catholic Church involved the main body or central administration of the Church. They were not isolated incidents. The corruption was at the center. How could the spirit of God have operated in such an environment?

lol…need we discuss the plethora of scandals at the very epicenter of the LDS Church? One would need several hands to count all the scandals of Joseoh and Brigham. That does not even include the scandal regarding black and Mark Hoffman…lolol.

It was impossible for the Catholic Church to have been guided by the Holly spirit practicing all the iniquities and injustices they have done in the past.

Then it is equally impossible to claim the LDS Church was led by the Spirit…

They even altered the ordinances and the doctrines.

No. The doctrines were altered by Joseph…well, only after he 9 tries and he came up with a version of the FV that he liked…

If they were truly guided by the spirit of God, they would not have done the atrocities they committed. Sorry, you are trying to stretch too much here!

You are talking about the LDS Church, right?

If God is the reflection of the Catholic Church actions, I am sorry, but I do not want any part with that god! That is not the same God from the Bible!

Yes…it is much better to see the reflection of God in Mountain Meadows

What happened to David when he committed his iniquities? Was not he punished by the Lord?

He was punished, but the Spirit was not taken away

How about the Popes? Did any prophet of God denounce their iniquities like Nathan did to King David? Of course not! We are talking about the dark ages! No prophet of God was on the earth! Just like the Bible predicted.

Ah…so when bad things happen, there is no prophet? Are you serious? Where do you come up with this stuff?

Popes don’t even claim to receive revelation from God. Consequently, how can they be guided by the Spirit of God?

Ah, so if you do not receive “revelation” you can;t be led by God? That means you have never been led…

This is just the fulfillment of prophecies in the Old Testament and the New Testament.

This was a long period of “spiritual famine” as recorded in Amos.

“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD” Amos 8:11

Here we see the apostasy after the New Covenant established by Christ, which is after the establishment of his Church. Change of Doctrines and alteration of the ordinances like Baptism. Notice…it is talking about the New Covenant that Christ established.

*“The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.” *Isaiah 24:5
So much for that old canard "I’m/we’re not here to tear down others faith.🤷

This one really has me stumped.

What does the Pope need to receive revelation for?

The Catechism of the Catholic Church

…Christian faith cannot accept “revelations” that claim to surpass or correct the Revelation of which Christ is the fulfillment, as is the case in certain non-Christian religions and also in certain recent sects which base themselves on such “revelations.”

What do we need to change evanfaust?

I mean, really, getting a revelation that one can now drink a soda…one needs the Holy Spirit for that?
