You clearly did not understand my post. Some will say that a person is not Catholic because they don’t practice their Faith. I say that it makes no difference whatsoever, she is still Catholic from Baptism. There is no such thing as “I used to be Catholic”.

~Liza
If this is your criteria for being a Catholic then everyone who is validly baptized is Catholic as any valid baptism enters one into the Church.

Evil… so it’s evil to let people live? Or maybe we’re following their great role model Margaret Sanger’s standards. According to her, it’s evil to have a large family (large is more than two children, and even two is too many sometimes according to her).

Immoral. Well, Margaret Sanger did seem to think giving birth was immoral. That’s why she encouraged everyone, including her 16-year-old niece, to have relations three times a day (not necessarily with one’s spouse, even if one is married), always be on ABC, and use abortion as back-up for when it fails.

Stupid. That’s a catch-22… if you learn to control yourself you won’t need abortions or ABC. Save lots of money, heartache (dead babies, broken marriages/familes), and avoid diseases (contraception, even when used, is never 100% effective). I guess learning self-control makes you stupid.

Mary had very good self-control. She remained a virgin her entire life. She did not sin. Our Lady did not abort her baby. Jesus also had great self-control. He was tempted and chose not to sin. I wonder what these people think of Mary? Jesus? They must think they are evil, immoral, and stupid.

We definitely need to pray for the souls of all these people, not just the ones who used to be Catholic but fell away from the Church. EVERYONE needs Jesus. This is 2011. We are the Age of Information. There is no longer the ignorance excuse of the past centuries because the information is out there (WWW) and there are Christians all over the globe. :gopray:

Maybe looking at the real world we live in that might have been exactly Joy’s point.
Unless you change the environment people are exposed to then you can’t expect otherwise, save for a miracle.

The question should be : What are we doing to help people abstain from sex outside of marriage ? It then becomes evident that we bombard even children with evil messages and a licentious spirit that undermines their ability to say no to dangerous and corrupting lifestyles, and say yes to holy, lawful living.

If someone objects to this, point out during the next snow storm that perhaps because the roads are overwhelmed with snow, then we shouldn’t plow them, and call anyone evil, immoral and stupid who thinks we ought to.

Pax Christi,
Tim
