You are right. Roman Catholics ought not to cast ad hominen attacks at anyone. As a Catholic I apologize for the unkind and unnecessary attacks you have endured in this thread. I also realize that any unkind words from you are out of frustration and anger, which are, as I wrote above, understandable under the circumstances.

I was not trying to drawn out who said what, but rather encouraged both parties to be charitable. If I’ve accidently misunderstood or misquoted someone, then I should be corrected. You should be charitable because I am a human being, created in the image of God.

It seems that allischalmers never intended to answer those of us who responded to this comment. It’s a classic case of “hit and run” baiting–not worth our time or energy.

Well, he took exception to being told that as a fundamentalist he “can’t seem to read,” etc. And I have to agree that that wasn’t a fair assessment of the fundamentalist position and bound to inflame those who don’t have very thick hides, as some of us have developed here.
From where I sat there were plenty of nasty things being tossed back and forth. I don’t see this as a good day’s work for us Catholics who claim to be apologists for Christ’s Church, sad to say.

Joyce Meyer is not a “respected protestant” at all! What makes you think that a “name it and claim it” “Prosperity teacher” that does not know the Gospel of Jesus Christ to save her life is a “respected protestant”?
