Well, she still has one heck of a following. So, I tune in once in a while to hear what she is saying. Today, she was talking about how to “Talk to the Devil” and she suggested that when confronted with the temptations of the Devil, the only cure was to throw the Rock of Christianity at the Devil. By Rock, she of course was talking about scripture. She said that scripture was the only thing in this world that the Devil could not stand against.

You know, this thing gives a rather weird thought in my head concerning a guy throwing a Bible to the wall to defeat the Devil (sure could have saved Frs. Merrin and Karras a lot of time exorcising if they did just that). But since Peter is the actual Rock where the Church (the Pillar and Foundation of Truth) stands, are we supposed to throw statues/pictures of St. Peter or models of St. Peter’s Basilica at the Devil?

Now to be serious. This ‘talk to the Devil’ thing would very much wasting the time we are supposed to talk to God. Just as the others already said, is it not to God that we are supposed to talk to at times of temptation and hardships? “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus” and not on the Devil; yet at the same time, we should be careful not to belittle him or his actions too much.

I missed that comment–but I still think he wrote such things out of frustration and anger. And I think some of that is excusable considering the uncalled for comments that have been flung his way. Yes?

Ms. Meyer is misinterpreting John 1. John is talking about Jesus, the Word of God who is and was and will be, as he describes him in Revelation. The word of God is God’s inspired words to human beings who wrote them down, but it is not and never will be the divine 2nd Person of the Trinity. For, the word of God will be fulfilled and has been fulfilled in Christ, the Word of God, who is eternally divine and who is God’s final word to man.

Christ is not the Word of God.

He is God the Word.

I laughed out loud at this one. Care to back that one up with scripture? There is only one time where Jesus refers to anyone as the rock…including himself…and that is when he calls Peter the Rock. Your comment is pretty silly, not to mention without Biblical basis.

Sorry, but I am just going off what the scripture actually says…not what I want it to say.

Did anyone ever think that when she said throw the rock she could of said throw the book at the devil but it didnt work for a good example so she went with throw a rock.

Generally throwing rocks is fairly dramatic

And Jesus did throw scripture at the devil when tempted in the desert. So maybe she was thinking of that

maybe just maybe it wasnt as complicated as that.

If she has so many “followers” they are not insane, she must have some good to say. So take that and leave the rest.
