When is it going to be replayed? We have Hallmark Channel here, but I don’t see it scheduled anywhere on the menu for my digital cable.

Sunday morning at 9 am, check your local listings for adjustments to this…

This is the last time it will be shown based on their current schedule. I also heard at the end of Monday’s broadcast that it will be commercial-free. 🙂

I haven’t seen it yet, but I had it taped. I think I will re-tape it again with the no-commercial version. Looking foward to seeing it.

Did anyone else notice that the actor who played the priest-persecutor after WWII was the same man who played Pontius Pilate in “The Passion of the Christ?”
Of course! I spent the whole time he was on screen puzzling over where I’d seen him before. What a hard role to play–either one! I wonder what his personal beliefs are. It’d be interesting to know. In any case, we certainly loved to hate him, didn’t we?

…I heard that Hallmark Films are available in their stores for purchase.
Update: I talked with a freind of mine that owns a few Hallmark stores and he informed me that it WONT be in their stores. The reason is that it wasn’t one of the “Hallmark Hall-of-Fame” movies, i.e., It wasn’t produced by Hallmark (It was produced by Faith & Values Media). The Hall-of-Fame Series are all that is carried normally. …Although, individual stores may opt to distribute others at their discretion. Sorry for the misleading in my previous post.

Boy, I wish we could edit our posts later than the forum allows… I know of other forums that allow it, and if the editing is done after a set time since the original post, it is noted by indicating in the post that it was edited.

That was, hands down, one of the most inspirational and touching movies I have ever seen…it kicked my discernment up a few notches. I don’t see how anyone can watch that movie and not feel a desire to become a priest or religious…or at the very least feel a need to increase your prayer life and spirituality. I have watched documentaries on JPII, but the movie brought to life all the facts I already knew…it was kind of like knowing the facts of Christ’s Passion, but not being able to visualize them until Mel Gibson made his movie. I loved the movie and I can’t wait until it comes out on DVD.

Resurrecting this thread because I finally saw part of this yesterday - about the last hour. Awesome!
At the end when they showed the actual footage of JPII being announced as Pope to St. Peter’s square, I broke out in goose bumps.
If this does come out on DVD, which I so hope it does, please, someone let us all know and where to buy it as well.

This movie was not publicized very much. I heard that the Vatican had to pull some strings for the lead actor to get his visa to the U.S. in time to do publicity. There is talk of a sequel.

I first saw this in May when it was shown in its North American premier on Canadian TV. It was carried by our cable company here in North Puget Sound. This movie is worth owning; I hope that the DVD is made with extra commentary. What a blessing to see this movie.

I’ve got it recorded on my DVR, but I’m still waiting to find the right time to see it this week! By the sounds of it, the movie sounds wonderful!

The movie is titled “The Man Who Became Pope”, but could have been called “God Has a Plan for Your Life”. It was amazing to see how Karol cooperated with God’s grace, and how God put people in Karol’s life to lead him further on the road to holiness. Paths crossed, there were forks in the road; there were no coincidences. By the time he was twenty, Karol was all alone, at a crossroads where he might have thought he had nothing more to lose and take up arms, or perhaps marry and start his own family. But instead, God created a path toward the priesthood, and Karol followed. Young people should see this movie.

I just finished watching this. WOW! I felt his joy and pain in every single scene.

One question, though. How much “creative license” was used? Was most of the movie factual?
