At our Women’s Society meeting, where I was sadly having to recount that it was wrong for our priest to offer Holy Communion to anyone who desired to come to receive at weddings and funerals, ( “if their church allows them, to” adding insult to injury!) they countered with, “Why then did they announce at the Pope’s funeral that everyone in attendance was allowed to come to Communion?” I watched for many hours and never heard this stated. I have looked at other sites and cannot find any reference to this. Could someone please help me out with this? There were many non Catholic dignataries there.
