Nope.

Jesus fulfilled the Law, He didn’t replace it.

The Church has always respected the Jews as God’s children. There has never been any attempt on the whole Church’s part to convert Jews. Individual Christians, like missionaries, may have converted Jews - just as they have converted Muslims and atheists and other people - but the Church has never commanded Christians to convert Jews.

but the Church has never commanded Christians to convert Jews.
Why not? Shouldn’t the church encourage evangelism to all other religions?

Jews do need to be evangelized to some degree. Yes, they are God’s children. But in accepting Jesus as Lord, they become “completed” Jews. sigh I can’t find the words that would best describe what I want to say. Yes, they are already God’s children. But if someone didn’t tell you about the Lord, would you be in a position to accept Him?

The Jews are already God’s People. Why would the Church need to convert them to God’s People?
The Jews are God’s people in the sense of their historical origins, and in the sense that ‘all’ people are people of God, but the Catholic Church is the New Israel, and the People of God in the sense of grace.

And yes, the Church has called for the evangelization of all people including the Jews – Why would we want to condemn them to be without Christ? 🙂

In a very real sense to be an adult Jew at any time in history now means to reject Christ in some form or another, the very person Judaism was made to worship – whom their whole religion points to – however mistaught or ignorant one might be about Him – It’s a very huge spiritual problem, not a benefit. 😦
