If the detective waited too long to file his lawsuit, then too bad, so sad, the court can’t hear it. I have no idea why somebody who thinks they were wrongfully terminated would wait to file.
As for the priest in question, who is in his 70s, he pleaded no contest to several charges, was sentenced to 2 to 15 years, and was permanently removed from ministry, so it’s reasonable that since they already had enough to put the priest away, they didn’t need to keep investigating.
