Judicial Watchdog Wants Elena Kagan Disbarred Over Abortion Distortions

Washington, DC – Larry Klayman, the judicial watchdog who is the founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch USA, says he is filing papers to have Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan disbarred. He says he wants to see that happen because he believes Kagan misled the Senate Judiciary Committee during her hearings.

This is a ridiculous waste of time and money. Either Klayman is doing it simply for publicity or he is really a terribly bad lawyer because his assertions are not reasonable. He may not like Kagan or want her on the court, but as an attorney he should know that the attorney advocates on behalf of their client’s positions and views, not their own personal views or beliefs. If one represents a government agency or a private client, the position is taken by the client and the attorney’s job is to find the best way to present the case on their behalf.

Trying to accuse Kagan of defrauding the Supreme Court in order to get her “disbarred” is just the kind of unsupported nonsense that makes people take the serious life issues less seriously and allows them to paint all pro-life people as kooks and extremists. Klayman is not doing the pro-life cause any favors with these actions. The kind of pretzel he must make of the facts to try to fit them into a case against her is only good when covered in mustard. I would much rather see people spend time and money on actions that can actually make a difference instead of stupid stunts like this one.

Well, if it works, it works. That’s the way I view it. I don’t think doing anything that could potentially save millions of lives in the future is a waste of time or money.

Looks to me like this person found a way to trap her between her actions and her testimony.

Seems to me it is relying upon the the issue of lying under oath.

Of course, this tactic has never been effective.

Wouldn’t that be the famous “doing evil so good may come out of it” argument?
