I was watching a video on YouTube about Catholic miracles and there was a brief section about Julia Kim, apparently the host was placed on her tongue and it turned into blood. There were pictures but does anyone have any info on her? Is this miracle Church approved? Is it a hoax? Thanks.

I don’t know anything about Julia Kim, but the only type of “event” that the modern Church approves are miraculous healings, mainly at Lourdes (through the recommendation of the Association Médicale Internationale de Lourdes, which the Bishop (and thus the Church) is free to reject).

The Church approves “messages” such as those of Our Lady at Fatima, but not “events” such as the spinning of the sun (though the Church does not disavow this event).

The modern Church would not endorse an event without a credible investigative body (such as at Lourdes) which operated according to very specific criteria. There is no such investigative body for general Eucharistic miracles. A Bishop could appoint such a body to investigate a particular claim, but I doubt that the credibility of the investigation could be established unless the miracle was repeatable under closely controlled circumstances (your post suggested it was a one-time event).

She is a fraud and has officially been declared so by the Church.
The conclusion from the third declaration states anyone supporting Julia Kim is excommunicated.

QUOTE

I make my final confirmation that such deeds of theirs are by no means the correct and balanced attitude of the faithful; nor are they the acts of sound devotions or ceremonies of worshipping God. Accordingly, I declare that the clergy, religious and lay people who hold or participate in the administration of the Sacraments or the celebrations of the Sacramentals, which I have prohibited, at the unauthorized ‘chapel’ or ‘the Blessed Mother’s Mountain’ incur the penalty of automatic excommunication (cf. Canon #1336 and 1364). As these are acts of disobedience against the Ordinary’s pastoral directives and judgments, violations of the Canon Law (cf. Canon #1369, 1371, and 1373), and refusals to form unity as well as inflictions of damage to the fellowship in the Church community, this (penalty) applies not only to the faithful who belong to the Kwangju Archdiocese but also to any of the clergy, religious, and lay people in the Catholic Church.
