Julia is a teacher of young children on a small isolated island.

Her boyfriend abandoned her when she told him about her depression and suicidal thoughts.

She has given up and feels suicide is the answer.

Also, I have not heard from my friend Elle in a week, which has never happened. Elle has struggled with suicidal thoughts and actions after being sexually abused by her adult stepbrother.
 
Prayer of St. Dymphna

Lord, our God, you graciously chose St. Dymphna as patroness of those afflicted with mental, emotional, and nervous disorders. She is thus an inspiration and a symbol of charity to the thousands who ask her intercession.

Please grant, Lord, through the prayers of this pure youthful martyr, relief and consolation to all suffering such trials, and especially Elle and Julia, who are suffering with suicidal thoughts.

We beg you, Lord, to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna on their behalf. Grant
all those for whom we pray patience in their sufferings and resignation to
your divine will.

Please fill them with hope, and grant them the relief and cure they so desire. We ask this through Christ our Lord who suffered agony in the garden. Amen.

Our Lady of Mental Peace, pray for us.

David, if you somehow are able to reach her later, get her to read & pray Psalm 31:15:

**O Lord!You know my heart! I am so oppressed on all sides that I quite often want to end my life! Life has become hopeless and I see no way out. Lord Your word says that my body is Your temple and as such I have no authority over my life and body. Yet Lord I am unable to resist this suicidal tendency. Strengthen my heart and remove all suicidal though and any attempts I have made to take my own life. I acknowledge that satan is a thief and comes to steal, kill and destroy. I now choose You Lord Jesus, as my Master who came to give me life and give it abundantly.I renounce all my harmful thoughts and I crave Your forgiveness for nursing such thoughts. Thank You for Your forgiveness that allows me to forgive myself. I believe that my times are in Your precious hands and that there is always hope in Christ. Thank You Lord for taking over my soul, my body and my life. In Jesus Name I pray.

Divine Mercy! I beg of You to protect all those helpless children who are physically and sexually abused, especially by those whose duty it is to guide and protect them on earth. Send Your enveloping cloak of Mercy and wrap it around those poor children and enfold them in Your love and protection. Send forth Your rays of blood and water to cleanse and renew the souls of those who perpetrate these vile acts of satan. Let there be a way to get Your powerful Image of Divine Mercy into the homes of these sad families, from where graces will flow as You promise, and they shall be renewed. O Blood and Water which gushed from the heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, we trust in You. Amen
 
The prayers are having an effect.

Her father reached out to her and she told him of her plans.
 
Julia and I continue to talk often.

I think she is very angry with life. She tried to go on a long camping trip and the tent poles fell off her backpack when hiking. She had to abandon her plans and hike all the way back in the dark.

She felt furious about that - was hoping this camping trip would help her get through the loss of her boyfriend.

I am praying that Julia will understand that sometimes God gives us tests and challenges for a reason and that even when things don’t go our way, it doesn’t mean God doesn’t love us and isn’t looking out for us.

Sometimes something that looks like misfortune is actually a divine intervention that will enable us to grow.

I haven’t heard from her in a few days. Am worrying. Praying things are ok…
 
I heard from her last night.

She feels hopeless. She feels that nothing can touch her pain and make it better.

Please pray for a miracle of love and healing for her. I’m very worried.
