Dear Brothers and Sisters,

If your parish offers no special devotions or observation of this 100th Anniversary of Mary’s Apparitions to the three little shepherd children of Fatima, I want to encourage you, if you have not already planned to do something special to honor God and His Mother tomorrow, to pray the Rosary, with attention and devotion, with these words of Mary in your heart:
I want you to come back here on the thirteenth of next month. Continue to say the Rosary every day in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary, to obtain the peace of the world and the end of the war, because only she can obtain it.
These are the words Mary spoke to the children on July 13, 1917. See HERE to read more, of Mary’s Message to these three little children and and the vision they were given of hell.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.
Our Lady of Fatima, intercede for us that we may become like little children.
Jesus, we trust in You!

Thank you for this reminder. This was in the back of my mind but I am having such a busy week at work that I had forgotten again as of today and I really want to go to the devotion in my area. I have been to a Fatima shrine or statue devotion the last two months and I am trying to visit for every one.

I like the part where Our Lady says:

“Make sacrifices for sinners, and say often, especially while making a sacrifice: O Jesus, this is for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for offences committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.”

and:

“You have seen hell, where the souls of poor sinners go. It is to save them that God wants to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If you do what I tell you, many souls will be saved, and there will be peace.”

I bought and read the book “Our Lady of Fatima” by William T. Walsh, and it is the most comprehensive information I have gotten on the Fatima apparitions. Very inspiring! I got to learn more about the culture of the times, the games the children played, and a bit about their family dynamics. Excellent book!

I loaned it to someone, and they were inspired by it as well.

Peace in Jesus and Mary,

Dorothy

Thanks for the information Dorothy. That inspired me to see what my library system has on Fatima. They don’t have that title (maybe I’ll request it through interlibrary loan) but they have two others.

Dear Tis Bearself,

Thanks for your love for our Lord and our dear Mother Mary, and for your reply. May we gain many graces for ourselves and for the world during this 100th Anniversary Year of Mary’s Apparitions to the three shepherd children at Fatima.

“O my Jesus, pardon us and save us from the fires of hell. Draw all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of your Mercy.”

Dear brother Pat,

Thanks for your reply and for using the EWTN website link! 🙂 They have done a great service in putting so much good information on the internet to help us. Thank you most of all for your continued love and devotion to Jesus through Mary.

Dear Dorothy,

Thanks for your reply, and for the mention of another book on Fatima. There are quite a few available now. I’ll need to look into this one that you suggest. May we all grow in our love and appreciation for all God gives us, especially in sending Jesus through Mary by the power of His Holy Spirit. How Good God is! How tender is the Immaculate Heart He has given our Mother – to love us so much! Of course she cannot love us more than He loves us, but no other human person comes as close as she does! 🙂

You’re welcome! 🙂

If you or anyone else would like to read the reviews of those who have read the book, here is the site:

Dear Dorothy,

Thanks so much for the link. I read the “Forward” and wondered if I had not read that same book many years ago. I think I did. It was beautiful and I thank you for bringing it back to the attention of many who may never have read it. Since the Forward was written in 1954, and the original copyright was given in 1947, it has certainly stood the test of time. 🙂

I am so glad I read it. Fatima was very big for me as a teen in Brooklyn, NY. At the First Saturday devotions I learned how to say the rosary, and from the “Blue Army” magazines I learned more about the apparitions. Of course you know that it is not called “Blue Army” anymore, but “The World Apostolate of Fatima.”

So, I was thrilled to read that book recently, and learned many new things, as I mentioned.

Peace,

Dorothy
