You know, it really IS sad that they don’t teach the Real Presence. And what’s funny (not haha funny) is that I have read that verse I know a hundred time over the course of my life and never really paid any attention…you know…sit and chew on it a bit. I’m just thankful that the Holy Father guided me and I LISTENED (for once, lol) and led me to Truth. I thank Him EVERY day for that. And I really appreciate everything that I’ve learned to this point.It is sad to realize that churches that have separated themselves from the One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church teach so much error. Their congregations don’t know it is error. I guess it might not be error for them though. Those churches don’t have the Real Presence. It actually would only be symbolic for them. But, they don’t teach anything about Real Presence, which is what was believed even through the Reformation. Why has that teaching been changed so much by man in the last 300 years? Jesus taught us that it was His REAL body and blood. The Apostles taught it all the ECF’s taught the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, so that is all we have to go on. Men, today, on their own authority teach error that leads people away from Christ.
Most non-Catholic Churches don’t teach that the original Bible came from the Alexandrian Canon of the Septuagint. Most that I have run across teach that the Catholics added 7 books at Trent or at some point. The Catholic Church has always used the Alexandrian Septuagint as that is what Jesus and the Apostles used. Those 7 books have always been part of the canon and used in teaching. There was some dissention over some of the books, but they were always used and the issue was finally settled for good (at Trent I think.) Non-Catholic Churches have to teach that the Catholic Church was “wrong” in adding them because otherwise it would be questioned why anyone would be using a different Bible than what was handed down by the Church. I have never been to a protestant church that has been forthcoming with the knowledge of where the Bible actually came from, who determined the canon, or the actual truth about why there are different numbers of books in the protestant Bible which came from the Catholic Bible that has more.

I can almost guarantee you that the majority of folks (Pentecostal/Protestant) really don’t know about the KJV of the Bible. I knew very little myself. But it’s really funny (again, not haha) that they are so quick to ‘blame’ Catholics for adding 7 books…when in actuality the Protestants took them away. Amazing.
I went to a Christian bookstore today assuming they would have some Catholic-based literature, rosaries, Crucifixes, etc. So I go in looking around, never having been in there before. Waaaaaay in the back was 1 shelf of 1st Communion, Confirmation, things of that nature…more of gifts than anything. No rosaries, no Crucifixes. I meander over to the book section. LOTS of TD Jakes, Creflo Dollar, Joyce Meyer, and Joel Osteen. Go past them, Christian fiction…romances, mysteries…hmmm…nothing worth me even picking up. So I’m thinking well, let me look over in prayers, theology and the like. HA! Nope nothing. Ok. So I look for Catholic bibles. Another joke. Bottom shelf BEHIND the register with boxes in front of them. Found it on my own as the lady didn’t even know if they carried them or not. So I asked about Crucifixes. She gave me this look as if to say “why on earth would you ask me that?!” I left. Lol. I’ll be going to the Catholic store across town as Books A Million is ok… but don’t have the titles that were given to me in this thread.
I’m glad you popped in again. I’ll be back on/off throughout the weekend.
