Thanks for the link. I was reading their piece on how baptism isn’t just symbolic, but through it we receive the Holy Spirit. This is something I’m confused about, because I’m trying to understand baptism in relation to confirmation. The thing is, I keep getting apparently conflicting information from Catholic apologetical and informational sites. For example on this Bible Christian Society website you provided, it says that we receive the Holy Spirit in baptism. Yet on the Catholic Encyclopedia site (newadvent.org), it only says that through baptism we are born again and enter into the Church; I perused most of the article and I’m pretty sure that it nowhere stated that we receive the Holy Spirit through water baptism. On newadvent.org’s article about confirmation, it stated that it is through this sacrament that we receive the Holy Spirit, and didn’t say anything about receiving Him in baptism. If anyone could help I’d appreciate it; I’m extremely confused.

38 And Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.-Acts2

1 While Apol’los was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples. 2 And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have never even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.” 4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.”

The Holy Spirit is given both during Baptism and Confirmation. It has a different goal each time, the first is Baptism where all sins are forgiven and your ready to do God’s will including participate in the other Sacraments. In Confirmation you receive strenthening of the Holy Spirit at the hands of the successors of the apostles and are ready to proclaim Christ.
