when are we judged? Right after we die, few days after or the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ?

at the moment of death we face the particular judgment,

the judgment of the nations (everybody) is at the 2nd coming, that’s when everybody else gets to hear what we did, and when we will finally find out whatever happened to Hitler, Dahmer, Herod et. al.

There is a particular judgment we will all receive when we die, immediately (see CCC 1022). There is a general judgment at the end of time when we learn the disposition of everyone (CCC 1042).

thank you for your (name removed by moderator)uts…

so, we will be judged twice according the CCC. what’s the point for the 2nd judgement? just for other’s to know what we had done wrong in our lifetime? If a man has done a lot of evil in his life, died and immediately went to hell will get to face Jesus for the 2nd judgement?

any (name removed by moderator)uts from non-ctholics?

he faced Jesus for is initial particular judgment and blew him off that is why he is in hell. he did not get to hell because he did the sins, but because he refused to repent when given the chance, face to face with God at the moment of death.

the second, general judgement is for everyone, in full knowledge of everyone, in the presence of everyone. why not just read the CCC citations, which explain perfectly.

pardon my ignorance but i don’t have a CCC, can you provide me a link or perhaps post the citations? thanks

That doesn’t sound right. After death, there is no chance for repentance. We may only repent while still alive.

The point of a the General Judgement is to witness the infinite wisdom, mercy, and justice of God.

I also believe there will be two judgments.

The first is when you die, you will be judged to go to heaven or hell.

Works of those who are sent to heaven will be judged separately and rewarded in heaven.
