Just a thought about the Tree of Knowledge

I believe I know where the disconnect is. My guess is that it is possibly close to my stumbling block in this CCC 396 sentence. "A spiritual creature, man can live this friendship only in free submission to God. "
Because people do not normally look at Adam from God’s view, there is the tendency to downplay Adam’s nature, especially his intellective rational soul. When I first read this sentence, I was interested in defending Adam’s anatomy. It took me a bit to get back on the Catholic track which says that the soul is considered to be the “form” of the body: (CCC 364-365) Bingo! Adam is a spiritual creature and remains so.

Speaking about God’s view…

What, may I ask, is God’s view of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil?

especially his intellective rational soul.
Did Adam and Eve have an intellective rational soul before sin? (might be a dumb question)

But I would think that one has to become rational through experience.

God as Creator (Genesis 1: 26-27) created human nature so that the human person could immediately interact with God as Pure Spirit. The intellective rational spiritual soul is immediately needed so that the material anatomy can become a human person . Therefore, the original human person Adam immediately had both the spiritual rational soul and the material body.

There never was a half human Adam. One cannot substitute experience for God the Creator.

Ok, so basically Adam didn’t care for his off spring and the whole idea of a peaceful human existence.

What sort of children had God created…

That’s my conclusion, based on what I’ve learnt so far.

Thanks.

Sounds good to me. Apparently, Adam did not appreciate the part of being a human.

God gave Adam a human nature so that all his children could share in God’s life.
